Fast-paced, suspenseful, fun and entertaining

The dynamic writing duo that is Edward G. Talbot has delivered another suspenseful, fun and fast-paced read. This time Agent James Robb is late to the game and has to scramble to catch up with a complex geographically widespread terrorist plot that is already underway. He and his small team have to move fast to get a handle on what’s happening and figure out who is the mastermind behind it all and where he’s going to strike next. There is a bit less of the witty repartee between Robb & his #2 than the first book. I thought I would miss it, but it just made it feel like a more serious, more mature book. Talbot does an excellent job at staging complex action scenes, especially the big climax when Robb and team finally come face to face with the dark forces they’ve been chasing. Always a sign of a good book, this is one where I wasn’t ready for it to be over. Fortunately I already have a copy of Alive and Worldwide, so I have the luxury of being able to move right on to the next installment.

The first half of the book laid the seeds of the guessing game. Who was the informant ,and what was their objective, and it remained a mystery till the very end, leaving it open for the next installment. Once again the authors have produced a nice tight script, a credible story and believable characters, a commendable book.

Another great James Robb book!

This is the 2nd James Robb series that I have read. I find it hard to wait for the 3rd book. I personally like many of the characters, but I don't like the boss who's in D.C. But then, we all like some characters in books but don't like others. And that's ok, because it would be too predictable if all the people were the same.
All in all, I enjoyed the book. I can see the point of view for each character, as well as identify with some of the characters. Regardless, it's a great read and I recommend it to anyone who likes this genre of book. You can't go wrong if you like books that have a bunch of truth in the story, is well researched and has fully developed characters.
