i love this whole series and these two are my favorite so far!
I liked Sawyer's honesty about himself and his career. He wasn't shy about getting what he wanted, but he knows after one time with Kace, that the other man isn't easy to forget.
The entire story is wonderful. From Kace's realization that he has to let go of his fantasy man and take a chance on the real one, and then getting to know Sawyer and truly liking him as a person, not just what he does. But the end is the best part. I have to say, Marissa Holt knows how to connect two people together at the end and you know they will be together, and happy, forever.
I read this book in one sitting and I would highly recommend it!
It is Kace who has that crush on Sawyer but never dreamed that it could become more. And he definitely has to adjust his fantasies of his dream man when he sees Sawyer stripping in a nightclub. He is so not the perfect man Kace thought him to be. Nevertheless, the attraction hasn’t waned a bit.
And Sawyer was not looking for a boyfriend, but there is something about Kace that tugs at his heart.
I liked Sawyer and Kace. Ordinary guys who didn’t have it easy in life but made the best of it. They are both quite surprised that they are attracted to a guy who is different than they thought. The author did a wonderful job describing their changing feelings. The push and pull of their attraction. That you can fall in love with someone who you thought wasn’t for you. It really showed the development of the characters. They didn’t give up on each other. Yes, there is the occasional hiccup when outsiders deemed it necessary to mess with their relationship, but they didn’t let that get in the way. Their chemistry is amazing, tangible from the start.
The drama that occurred could have become bigger, but it was dealt was quick. Some turn of events might have been a bit too easy, but then again, this story doesn’t call for long theatrics.
Not only Kace and Swayer are great characters, but also the secondary cast. Not always in the most positive sense though. There are some that are total obnoxious beyond words, but for the story, it worked. I don’t need to love all the characters as it conducive to the story, and it was in this one. But luckily, there are also loveable ones. Flynn and Jaxon are good friends, and Sawyer’s nephew, Jonah, is a pistol.
Kace was a really great character and I enjoyed watching him grow and find happiness even if the boxes didn't fit. I enjoyed his personality...He was fun and smart and he believed he knew what he wanted and strive to get it even though it wasn't what he needed.
Sawyer was an inspiration...He followed his own path and lived the life he wanted for himself instead of being miserable trying to fit someone else's idea of who he should be. He was a fun and hardworking guy and even though he was a stripper he was the best dang stripper there! He was also a go-getter and when he decided he wanted Kace nothing was going to stop him from achieving that!
Sawyer and Kace were absolutely amazing together and I also really loved all the secondary characters we meet in this story and I'm so excited for the next book. I loved really learning about Kace and Sawyer and now I am dying to take a look at some of the others.
I definitely recommend this story and if you really want to read more about some of the characters in this story Jeremy and Sean's book In Southern Deep is amazing and will give you their story...But you don't need to read it to enjoy this book!
Great read with a lot of tension. Strong written story with fierce personalities in it.
Kace had a high school crush on a guy it took years to get over him. After he meets him again in a strip club with Saywer as stripper he doesn't want anything to do with him just to protect his heart and he absolute doesn;t want Saywer to know about the crush he had. Saywer is a potent guy and intrigued by Kace
Saywer wants a quick f * c k to get him out of his system. Simple.....
Uhuh nothing is simple.
A lot of pulling and pushing, denying and allowing Friends to help and others who want to destroy.
There is just one thing in life Kace really wants and that's still out of reach.
I love the tension in this story. The relation between all the friends and colleagues were good put down. Family matters was less interesting. It was unfortunate that at the end it felt a bit rushed, the tension was gone and it felt a bit lame. Overall a captivating written read with nice main characters.
