Every All-absorb training pad consists of 5 layers of materials. The first layer is made of non-woven cloth, which allows dog urine flow through to the absorbent core quickly. The second layer is made of paper tissue, added with dog attractant and baking soda. The third layer is a mix of super-absorbent polymer and fluff pulp, which forms the absorbent core that can absorb and turn dog urine to gel instantly. The absorbent core can hold 3 cups of liquid. The fourth layer is also made of paper tissue. The back layer is made of water-proof PE film, which prevents wetting your floor.

I noticed that Costco sold the Hartz Home Protection Puppy Pads and thought I would try them as they are a little less expensive. They are just a bit smaller and the surface is smooth. If your puppy decides to chew on them they are a HUGE mess to clean up compared to the All-absorb Training Pads. I ended up returning the pads to Costco and reordering these.
Saving a few bucks sometimes is just not worth it.
UPDATE: 4-18-2014 These were out of stock for quite awhile and I just ordered/received a new batch. They are different!!! The inside white part that is absorbent is smaller like the wee wee pads. Not so impressed anymore and probably won't buy again.
We also used them when we had 2 chihuahuas and they worked for both dogs as well. I enjoy being able to not have to take my dog out in the cold weather. This solves that problem. My dog also doesn't track her footprints throughout the house using these pads. With other pads there were dog footprints all over my house. This is a repeat purchase for me!
“This product was a personal purchase for myself at the normal retail price. I am reviewing it solely because I want to share my experience with other potential customers. I have received no compensation for my review nor do I have any relationship with the seller or manufacturer of this product.”
Anyway, my dog took to it well as if it were her old pads. She has this quirk where she doesn't like peeing in the same spot twice so she pees near the edge and I have noticed some run off onto the tile. Although, I have had WAY worse. I must say though that the pee doesn't go through the bottom layer at all unless theres run off and it finds its way under of course. I have one dog that pees two to three times a day on it. Surprisingly the first box of 100 lasted me almost 6 months. Thats not 100% on the puppy pad though, I do take her out when I am home. I honestly can say that I will not be switching puppy pads until one day technology created a pad that masks the urine scent and picks itself up. Love it!
