About the Author
Armed with a fine arts degree from Indiana University, Meg moved to New York City, intent upon pursuing a career in freelance illustration. Illustrating, however, soon got in the way of Meg's true love, writing, and so she abandoned it and got a job as the assistant manager of an undergraduate dormitory at New York University, writing on the weekends, and whenever her boss wasn't looking.
Meg lives in New York City with her husband, Benjamin, a poet, financial market writer and fellow Hoosier, and their one-eyed cat, Henrietta.

About the author

Meg Cabot was born in Indiana during the Chinese astrological year of the Fire Horse, a notoriously unlucky sign, but has been working hard ever since to give herself a happy ending. Her books for both adults and tweens/teens have included multiple #1 New York Times bestsellers, selling well over 25 million copies worldwide. Her Princess Diaries series has been published in more than 38 countries and was made into multiple hit films by Disney. Meg’s numerous other award-winning books include the Mediator series and the Heather Wells mystery series. Meg Cabot (her last name rhymes with habit, as in “her books can be habit forming”) currently lives in Key West with her husband.

This book is interesting for me to read because it's from 2002. It's amazing how much technology has changed. People were not texting they were IMing. They used land lines. All kinds of outdated technology is being used. It's great!
If you like the way Meg writes her books lie princess diaries series well you'll surely love this one its a bit detailed but still a great storyline and i can't wait to get to the its sequal.
this book isn't written as a diary like the princess diary but the main character descibes alot of details and is funny even for non teens.
I can highly relate to the feelings in this book, and it only took me a couple days to read the whole book. The story is about a middle child, Samantha Maddison, who is often ignored next to her genius little sister, Rebecca, and popular older sister, Lucy. After doodling in her Deutch notebook, she is sent to Susan Boones for art lessons, which changes her life. Another big event is that she saves the president from being killed. (No I am not spoiling. This is all on the cover.) :)
I highly reccomend the book! Enjoy!
Love the opinionated main protagonist. Although the end was kind of obvious from about the middle of the book.
