With a classic, attractive shape and polished stainless steel finish, this kettle will complement just about any kitchen motif. Its flat, wide bottom keeps the kettle stable on any surface and allows water to heat faster when it's on the stove. The tall, wide handle helps ensure safe pouring, as does the tight-fitting lid with riveted handle. This kettle is compatible with all cooktops, including induction cooktops.

Premium Stainless Steel Construction
Classic design, high performance, and lifetime durability unite in the Stainless Collection, All-Clad's most popular line of cookware. Products in the collection feature an interior core of aluminum for even heating and a high-polished, 18/10 stainless steel exterior and cooking surface for fine culinary performance.
After years of perfecting the bonding process, company founder John Ulam established All-Clad Metalcrafters in 1971 and began producing professional-quality bonded cookware for working chefs and avid home cooks. The brand flourished as early adopters discovered the cookware's extraordinary properties and exemplary cooking performance. Today, All-Clad cookware is still handcrafted in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, with American-made steel--the same way it was four decades ago. It is widely sought after by the world's top chefs and passionate home cooks.
Riveted handle provides a sturdy grip for pouring.

After three months of daily use I noticed rust spots on the inside bottom of the kettle. This is extremely worrying since that is a sign of un pure stainless steel. Chinese manufactures have been known to use low quality metal to save costs and puts the consumers safety at risk. Low quality stainless steel can contain very harmful chemicals that leech into the food or water and slowly poisons the person using it.
I'm willing to pay a premium for safe cookware and thats why I have purchased All-Clad products but this kettle is not up to the standards that I expect from the company. My recommendation to All-Clad is to only produce there products in the United States where labor laws and quality are regulated.
After noticing the rust spots in the kettle I contacted All-Clad and they stood behind there life time guarantee and sent me a new kettle. I'm thankful for the new kettle but I'm still hesitant to use it since the metal quality is in question. I use a kettle daily for my coffee and tea. I do not want to worry about harmful chemicals in my boiled water.
All steel construction. Feels weighty and solid. I don't see any plastic anywhere Shiny Polish. Hasn't developed haze or patina with use.
No rust. I boil water then leave it in there for days. No issue with rust on the inside or outside or anywhere.
Large capacity holds plenty of water.
Boils quickly because of large flat base
Soft whistle. Loud enough but not shrill/shrieking
Handles get hot. Spout cover gets hot. Use a towel or let it cool
Lid fits snug and doesn't fall when you pour
Spout cover stays open when pouring
There are some cons though. And why I docked 1 star from my review.
Price. $100 is a lot for a tea kettle
Made in China. I expect All-Clad to be made in the USA. Especially when it's a $100 tea kettle
Even after washing thouroughly with soap and water, I noticed metal polish in the seams and had to give it a thorough detail inside and out. Especially the lid. Turned my rags black. To be safe. I washed twice with soap and hot water after the full detail. Then boiled fresh water in it 5 times (dumping and refilling each time) before I felt comfortable using. I boil water to make formula bottles for my baby. So I have to be particularly cautious.
ALL-CLAD: PLEASE MAKE YOUR STUFF IN THE USA!!! THAT'S WHAT PEOPLE LIKE ABOUT YOUR COMPANY!!!
But this All Clad, which he bought me to make amends, is just so darn gorgeous! I love the way it looks. I love the way the lid gently slides on, instead of having to be rammed in, as with the other two brands. What is more, because the base is of a wider diameter, water heats in half the time.
I honestly don't know why other reviewers complain so about the handle heating up. Have you tried the Chantal? You virtually need to wear an asbestos suit before you can touch its handle. The All Clad does heat up a little, but I would always suggest using a pot holder to handle any kettle or hot pan handle. It just makes sense.
Lastly, I don't know much about other brands of oven, but we have a Wolf, and the burners are so large that the flames would fly up the sides of my copper Chantal kettle and burn the patina. The All Clad has the same diameter as our Wolf burners, so no chance of that happening; although I suspect if it did, no harm would come to it.
So thank you, Steve, for burning out my Chantal kettle!
