About the Author

Mark Edwards and Louise Voss met after Louise saw Mark on a TV documentary about aspiring writers, and a writing partnership was born. Their first two thrillers, Killing Cupid and Catch Your Death, were huge hits when the pair self-published them online, becoming the first UK indie authors to reach No. 1 in both the Amazon Kindle and Amazon Fiction charts.Mark is marketing director for a student money website, and Louise is a concert administrator at a London university. Louise Voss has been writing for the past eighteen years, with many twists and turns in her career. She started her publishing life with four novels for Transworld/Black Swan, the first of which, To Be Someone, was published in 2001 with its own CD soundtrack. This was followed by three more contemporary women's fiction novels, Are You My Mother? Lifesaver, and Games People Play, until she switched to publishing thrillers with Mark Edwards.
She and Mark were the first British indie authors to reach No.1 on the Amazon charts with Catch Your Death, where they stayed for the month of June 2011, with their novel Killing Cupid also at No. 2. This led to a four-book deal with Harper Collins; then two books in the DI Lennon series, From the Cradle and The Blissfully Dead (Thomas & Mercer).
Her first solo thriller was The Venus Trap in 2015 and her second, a twisty tale of domestic noir, is out in May 2018: The Old You, published by @OrendaBooks.

I really liked this book and the one before it There was so much packed into the book that it could have been longer or split into two books. There was some foreshadowing that hinted at a sequel or possible prequel. Will another book in the series be forthcoming ?

Although I really like the author's other books, this one was not one of my favorites. I was disappointed when I started reading to find it had the same characters in one I read previously that I wasn't all that crazy about. The story dragged out way too long and seemed like it needed editing. Toward the end it became very predictable and I'm pretty sure I rolled my eyes at least once. I hope these characters are put to bed and the authors move on to something else. I really enjoy reading the Mark Edwards' other thrillers but this one didn't do it for me.

All Fall Down starts out with pounding action, and continues at a frantic pace till the end. It reminded me of the adventure hour-type episodes of the seventies, Ala "The streets of San Francisco" or the "Dirty Harry" films. Lots of horrific action-reaction plots that run against the clock. Sex, violence, killing and profanity are all featured, if you like that sort of thing. the plot did develop towards the middle of the book, and then suddenly all was resolved, like a literary firecracker. Boom! shows over. I would like to see the characters developed a little more, so that I would care about the next read. As it is, I will probably choose other authors next time.

Two years on from uncovering the chilling truth about the Cold Research Unit, Kate Maddox is happy that life has returned to normal. However, a face from the past steers Kate onto a whole new path full of adventure, danger and science.

I loved the new characters fulfilling the will of the Goddess Sekhmet, particularly Angelica and Heather; their actions of pure evil were described so vividly that I soon found myself hating them while simultaneously loving the badness within them. There were some great action scenes that had me on the edge of my seat and there were also a few shocking surprises which I liked.

I was sad to see this little series come to an end because its theme was quite plausible and the characters were faced with some very realistic situations. I will definitely be reading Mark Edwards' and Louise Voss' other novels and would strongly recommend this series to those who like action, suspense and scientific thriller novels.

If I had read this 3 years ago I would have said very sci-fi. But having experienced 2 years of a pandemic it was quite prophetic. A mixture of fanatical religion and brainwashing, rioting and killing and the result of a madman scientist the story shows just how real a virus can affect the world. Scary stuff!

The second book featuring doctor Kate Maddox showing that being a virologist can be far from boring.
Kate is called into find a cure for a pandemic which has been unleashed by terrorists , She gets caught up in the whole scenario which also threatens her partner and son.
The book keeps the suspense going and has some really great scenes which provide nail biting terror .
I felt that towards the latter part of the book there was a little too much repetition relating to scenes between the heroine and her enemy , that started to become a little "here we go again" for the reader and were unnecessary. This is why I gave a four star and not five.
Other parts, especially charactisation were excellent and could have been developed more instead of so many " action " scenes,

All fall down is the sequel to Catch your death, which I read almost 2 years ago now. I've got quite the thing for killer viruses that have the potential to wipe out humanity so this book is right up my street! It follows virologist Dr Kate Maddox as she heads to America to help with finding a cure for a deadly virus which has been released into the general population by person/persons unknown. Her partner Paul and her son Jack tag along, but are separated and the chapters switch between the 3 characters.

It's fast paced, and is written in an easy to read style. I really like Kate's character but Paul tends to be quite impulsive, despite the best intentions. The 'baddies' are also really fascinating.

It can be read as a stand alone book, but I'd recommend reading 'Catch your Death' first if you haven't already.

I really hope there is another book that follows on, and I'm really looking forward to their new book 'Forward Slash' which is out in the summer.

I really enjoyed this follow up to Catch your Death, in fact I thought it was better. Lots of interesting characters and some brilliant twists.
I have one complaint to the writers though. Why are all the female characters described as beautiful or ugly, and not the male characters?
