Review

“Janice Taylor is a kooky kind of genius.”–O Magazine

"A great mix of tips, tricks, and anecdotes, All is Forgiven, Move On has excellent ideas for your weight loss journey and for improving your life along the way!"—Judith S. Beck, Ph.D., author of The Beck Diet Solution

“Can you lose weight from sheer wackiness? After leafing through Janice Taylor’s …compendium of dieting revelations and multicolored inspirational collages, you won’t want to rule it out."The New York Times

“More satisfying than a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos.”Chicago Sun-Times

“Many diet and exercise books lack two ingredients: humor and creativity. If those are missing from your current slim-down regimen, seek out Our Lady of Weight Loss."LA Times

“A fun, irreverent and wacky read for women who would consider approaching weight loss with a sense of humor in one hand and a rosary in the other. Or perhaps a paintbrush. The kind of diet book Vivi and her pals (from Rebecca Wells' The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood) would read if they ‘let themselves go.’"Fort Worth Star-Telegram

“In her witty and original approach to weight loss, Janice Taylor encourages us to lighten up, in more ways than one. Offering support, motivation and forgiveness for our dietary transgressions, Our Lady of Weight Loss gives us much-needed hope. All we need is faith—in ourselves.”—about.com

“The best makeovers begin from the inside out. Positive change comes from positive actions. Our Lady of Weight Loss links laughter to self-worth. It makes the phrase "lighten up" quite literal.”—Julia Cameron, author of The Artist's Way

"Finally! A bit of wacky originality, humor and creativity in the world of weight loss."—Simon Doonan, author of Nasty: My and Other Glamorous Varmints

“A humorous approach…Taylor doesn't push a diet plan. She is a weight-loss coach who encourages people to take a fun and creative way to losing weight.” Winston-Salem Journal

“If you are in dire need of a diet starter or just a good kick in the tush, be sure to check out Our Lady of Weight Loss.”AmNY

Our Lady of Weight Loss is like a really good motivational dieting coach that could possibly need to be locked up in a mental institution, but you don't care because she is so good.”—fitsugar.com

"Divine intervention at its best and funniest! Who knew? The powers that be are hilarious! Never has losing weight been so much fun!”—Colette Bouchez, medical writer for The New York Daily News

“This empowering book's underlying theme is one of self-care.”Library Journal

I love Taylor's wit and art--I burned calories just laughing. But most of all there is practical advice, not only for losing weight and keeping it off, but for reinforcing your self-esteem, helping you uncover new points of view, and giving you ways to deal with all the ups and downs of life (besides eating that last piece of cake). I highly recommend the book!

Reading this book is like sitting with a girl friend and laughing about weight loss while trying to help each other through the process. Janice encourages you to think differently, take a practical look at yourself, and urges you to make a few changes in how you see yourself. She does it in such a light and funny way, its hard to resist turning the page to see what else is there, when really, you should sit and ponder some of her ideas for a few minutes before moving on. It is truly a freeing book. I'll never look at myself the same way. I'm ready to move on and stay healthy! Watch out world!

Janice Taylor is simply delightful! She is cheerful, creative, and super-spirited about her work...and all of this comes across in her writing. There is no way to look at, listen to, or read Janice Taylor and be unhappy. No way! I am not on a personal quest for weight loss but "All is Forgiven", I have discovered, encompasses so much more - it's about renewing your outlook on life, your journey and, most of all, your esteem. It is the type of book that I like to take a little bite out of everyday - just for a boost of inspiration or a little yummy food for thought. The art work (graphics as well as Janice's artwork, present throughout the book) is an added boon. Even if I'm not reading, it's fun to just peruse the pictures, marvel at Janice's art, and enjoy how beautifully formatted the book is. If you are battling with your weight however, as many of us are, this book is a MUST READ before you even THINK about starting another diet! Everything about "All is Forgiven" will make you feel good, and better about what might have seemed an impossible journey to "Sveltsville." Sometimes you simply need a change of perspective :-)

This book is lovely. It is lighthearted, funny, realistic and just gives a new perspective on the age old problem of dieting, losing weight and transformation. Yes the author only lost 50lbs. But this book isn't about how much she lost, it's about the journey and keeping it off. The anecdote is that the main course isn't food - food is simply a tool in life, something you need for nutrition, a tool that used correctly can enhance and transform you, or used incorrectly can do you in and take you away from the person you truly want to be on the outside. I highly recommend it, as someone who is already thin, I struggle to maintain my weight as food is my downfall and my weakness. I don't need to read another diet book, I know about nutrition and how to take care of myself. I just lack self control and motivation to always do it correctly. Reading something like this keeps me on track and reminds me on a daily basis (read a little each day) what's important and that the choices are there and mine to make. Over time before you know it you've been on track and things are going the way you want them to. To be honest, diet books just wear me out. It's refreshing to have a new take on an old story. I use this in conjunction with dieters daily prayer book, even though I am a spiritualist, it's very motivational for dieting and almost everything in life. The Dieter's Prayer Book: Spiritual Power and Daily Encouragement

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I tore into it with gusto, with smiles, tears and a huge sigh of
relief that somebody out there understands! At three o' clock this
morning I re-emerged with such calm-knowing that it's not a
sterile, measured trip to skinny town but a Juicy, Funny, Truthful,
and Creative Rocky Road to Sveltesville! Janice, you are a blessing!

This is one of the best books I've read. Kept me laughing whole way through.I'm not your "typical reader" but this book I could read. Janice is such a delightful, charming Weight Loss Coach. I admire her style and just found this book to be so enjoyable. Janice Taylor, is so down to earth, and REAL, about weight loss. It's the kind of book you could read more than once. I ordered several of them and gave them to all my friends for their birthdays!! Now I just have to get them signed by Janice herself!!! Congrats to Janice for such a superb book. I commend you!!
