The poems in this book are easy to read, but that doesn't mean it is without depth. I'm not entirely sure if the author intentionally placed the order of the poems in a certain way, but it seems to begin fairly simple and progressively becomes more complex. Yet, in between there are also short poems as if for comic relief. The poems itself will pull at your heart and surprise you. You can feel the pain, confusion, and love.. and you can relate to it all! The words she chooses and the way she puts them together is so ingenious. Most poems rhyme, others don't. I am partial to rhyming poems even though I remember someone telling me that rhyming poems aren't "deep". This author will prove you wrong, these poems are anything but shallow. This author helped rekindle my appreciation for poetry again, a simple piece of prose that says everything you wish you could say.
What's more amazing is that this author was born and raised in the Philippines, yet she writes better in english than me (and many other people born and raised in the United States)! So I urge you to give this up-and-coming poet a try. You won't be disappointed!
