I bought this because I just moved into my first house, and my parents had the older generation dots in almost every room of their house & i absolutely loved them. I really like this new look compared to the older ones, it’s really nice. Gotta say I don’t think functionality is much different than the older ones tho. If you do not already own one of these, it’s a great buy and you’ll be super happy with it! However if you already own the older gen dots and are looking to upgrade to this one, I really don’t think it’s necessary. This one is maybe slightly better than the older ones with a few changes. But the ones at my parents house do almost everything mine does that I actually will use on the day to day and I personally think the sound quality has only minimally improved on this one. Can’t say anything bad about it, I’m very happy with it!
