It was a case of All or Nothing for me. The crux of story sold me even though there were parts I did not like. An aptly named series, Wicked Games play out in this book for Jena. Unwittingly playing a game she has no idea she is a participant in, it appears that by the end of the game she could lose everything.

Character and story issues left me with mixed emotions. I liked King, but I did not like his original game plan and I had a hard time reconciling the man who went into the game with eyes wide open to the probable repercussions of what he put in play with the man who fought for his woman at the end. We also got just enough info on King and Wick to know they are not good guys, but not enough to know what exactly it is they do. At times, their actions did not match their words and this disturbed me greatly.

Jena came across as dumb as a box of rocks, dismissing what was happening around her by resorting to excuses and sticking her head in the sand. She evoked frustration and sympathy simultaneously, but it was her weakness that lost me in the end.

Timeline issues unsettled me as well, as in when did King and Wick meet? Was it in when they were kids or in the military? It can’t be both in my head, yet both were stated as facts. A proper back story on those two would have improved this book immensely, probably cleared that issue up and added some character depth that was missing. A little more about Jena’s old job would have been nice too.

And after all that you’re wondering why I said I liked it? It was all about the game for me and on that level it delivered to the point of me wanting Wick’s story next.

There is nothing I love more than to pick up a book and get sucked in from the prologue or first chapter. This book flowed really well and fast and I was smiling right from the start.

I can’t say much without giving it away but if you love alphas and sassy heroines you will like this. King and Jena have butted heads since the first day they met. Jena is left devastated by tragedy and King re-enters her life and won’t leave. Jena is a ballbuster whom any other man would run from but King loves it and won’t give her up. But King has secrets that he won’t share and this leaves Jena with some hard choices.

I loved the banter between them and they were hot together. The story also had some nice twists.

I would have liked more of an epilogue for King and Jena, but I am hoping we will get more of them in the next book. I need Wick’s book ASAP he intrigues me.

Well done.

Where to begin? This is a little different from author C.C. Wood's other books, in that I believe it's her first erotic novel. (though she's no stranger to writing a good sex scene) And hell yeah it was steamy mcsteamy! I don't want to give too much away. I read this book without reading the premise. What I loved about this book is that I couldn't put it down. I read it from start to finish, in one day. And there were so many twists and turns that I didn't see coming. I LOVE when an author surprises me. Especially when she surprises me again and again. Though this is first in a series, this can be read as a standalone with an HEA. And I know I'm jumping the gun here since this book hasn't even been released yet, but I can't WAIT to read the next book in this series! So author C.C. Wood did an excellent job in this erotic romance and I can't wait to read more! I highly recommend it.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Drama. Suspense. Betrayal. Sexual tension. This story had it and as a result it is another story that I could not put down. It only has a few things that bothered me and they are spoilers

a few spoilers below
King had sex with Katie right after comforting and sleeping with Jena (no sex) and knowing that Katie betrayed her friend in one of the worse ways. I thought less for him for that especially when learning it happened more than one time and Katie made reference to their sex being taped. Also it was kinda of gross. Also I dislike needless separations and this story had one. However I was happy that there was no sexing other people after they got together. I thought that the sex scenes were ok but not great.

I love love love anything and everything from this author. Her writing is down to earth, believable characters, the humor, the alpha males...

Girl next door with a great group of girlfriends meets great guy, falls in love, HEA. Or is it?

Only issue, albeit a minor one his her guy's best friend King, who hit on Jena when they first met. Easily handled by telling him off. No biggy.

Tragedy and Jenna is left devastated. Gradually coming out of her grief and deciding to face the "dating" world again, goes out drinking with her friends. Runs into King. And I don't want to give anymore away. Great read. Steamier than previous books.

King & Jena Girls night out. Jena meets Justin, thier relationship last till Justin dies suddenly. Enter King, who she initially hates and is Justin's best friend. King pursues her with a vengence. She rebuffs him but eventually see's a different side of him and gives him a chance. The story makes a sharp turn when she discovers he lives just a gray shade of the law. The emotional depth was lacking but the story was great.
