I am stunned by the glowing reviews for this book. I genuinely hated it. The main female character, Lacy, is a total bag! Who would be attracted to someone who makes sarcastic cutting responses to everything you say? In addition to that, the book was tedious in the extreme! Even after shelling out the cash for this waste of time, I couldn't even bring myself to finish it. I honestly don't care if there is a HEA (which I always want!), because I don't think the main character deserves one.

After reading all of the reviews, I thought this book would have been a great purchase. It was not. There was no 'zing' between the main characters and the antagonistic attitude that Lace (the female character) had with Pierce was irritating. I just didn't think that the story was that believable. I got through the few chapters and then skipped to the end. (which was also anti-climactic)...

Lori Wilde's latest book "All Out of Love" is the second book in the "Cupid Texas Novels". Her writing captivates you with the quirky characters of Cupid, Texas before you finish the first chapter.

The setting in a small town in Texas could be any small town in America... and as in small towns, everyone knows everyone... or knows someone that knows everyone... and nothing is a secret. The trials of her main character Lace Bettingfield brings you back to your teenage first crush and the humiliation that can come with having that crush made public, especially if that crush is the high school quarterback Pierce Hollister who is your big brother's best friend and you happen to be a nerdy awkward freshman.

Fast forward 12 years....Lace Bettingfield and Pierce Hollister have grown, matured, and come back home. After receiving her PhD, Lace returns for a position in her beloved Cupid Botanical Gardens. Pierce, the famous quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, comes back to check on his ailing father, in the middle of rehab for the broken leg he received during the Super Bowl. As in all small towns, it's only a matter of time before your paths cross.

Pierce sees Lace in a different light and Lace is determined not to be another notch in his belt of conquests.

Lori Wilde takes you on a journey that will have you laughing, frowning, cheering, and breathless at times! Come sit a spell and get to know the people of Cupid, Texas. A great read!

I am a fan of Lori Wilde, I have always enjoyed her books and this book was a delight to read. I loved Cupid, Texas and will be going back for sure and reading the other two books (One True Love and Love at First Sight) in this series. **I read All Out of Love as a stand alone book and I enjoyed the story without feeling like I was missing anything, Lori Wilde does a great job making the reader feel right at home in Cupid. You don't NEED to read the first book in the series to enjoy Lace & Pierce's story, but it would probably be a great visit back to Cupid, Texas for those that have read Love at First Sight.**

All Out of Love lets you experience what happens when your childhood crush comes home 12 years later and finally "sees you". *Sigh* I loved watching Lace and Pierce circle each other, then ignite and then fall, it was a fabulous ride (even though Lace annoyed me at times, she is forgiven in the end).

One of my favorite things about romance novels is the dialogue and Lori Wild does an amazing job with letting her characters tell you their story. Lace and Pierce really shine through their banter, wit and charm, I loved their "sexy football/botany word foreplay". The writing in All Out of Love flows, the pacing is great, and you feel like you are put in Lace's shoes, finally getting your chance at your teenage crush (who is now ALL man).

All Out of Love is another 1-click recommendation, it has the geeky girl, the quarterback, a sexy romance and a quirky town that is chock full of characters that are just waiting for their own story. Lori Wilde is an author that I know will give me a story that will pull at my heart strings, leave me breathless and beaming with happiness when it is all over. I highly recommend any of her books, especially All Out of Love and the town of Cupid, Texas.

I am sick to death of being excited to begin a romance novel where the leading lady is over a size 8 and then to ALWAYS end up being disappointed when the author inevitably portrays her as a clueless fashion deprived frumpy mess! Plus size women are just too lazy to care about their appearance? Or is it that they're too down to earth to care about something so trivial? It's so offensive to women in general no matter what size they are and yet its so common place a device used by authors in chick lit! I am a zaftig babe myself but I still love clothes, shoes, bags, hair, and accessories as much as any size 2 girl would. In fact, I worked on Madison Avenue in New York at a high end fashion boutique. I have never ever read a romance novel where the plus sized heroine has it together in the fashion department. How refreshing would it be to have a big girl be loved and lusted after for her elegant and sexy fashion choices instead of condescendingly tolerated for her frumpery? The thing that made me extra annoyed in this book is that the heroine talks about being a size 6 in college and dressing sexy but now that she's back to a size 14, she wears sneakers and t-shirts and orders out of the LL Bean catalogue. I understand that her job calls for her to dress casually, but she is a fully formed adult woman who, as the author takes time to point out, is comfortable in her skin.....why can't she take pride in her appearance? I guess it really frustrates me that an alarming number of authors who's writing is geared toward women are sending a message that fat is lazy or fat is frumpy. Because Lace has decided to be a size 14, that's also the end of her caring about fashion. If we're really and truly and genuinely proud to create plus sized characters in literature, let's strive to give them some pride. Not only in their appearance, but in the celebration of their confidence and the confidence that the readers will gain as well.
