"Snyder still has plenty of tricks up his sleeve..."--IGN
"That thoughtfulness plays out in a damn fun--and beautiful--ride. Snyder has recruited a murderer's row of artists to rotate through each villain-centric arc."--PASTE MAGAZINE
"This comic is awesome. There was always an element of bombastic spectacle to balance the strong horror elements in Batman, but ALL-STAR BATMAN sees Snyder doubling down on explosive, dynamic action, brought to the page with incredible energy by penciler John Romita Jr., inker Danny Miki, and colorist Dean White."--A.V. CLUB/THE ONION
"Snyder and Romita have produced... the Batman we so desperately need."--POPMATTERS

Batman kidnapped Harvey Dent, with the intent to travel and "cure" him of Two-face once and for all. One problem. Two Face has his own contingency plans in place. Plans that have everyone gunning for Batman and Harvey, friends and enemies alike. This book is packed end to end with action, drama, plot twists, and villains from the well known rogues gallery to rarely seen classic D-list villains.
A gripping story, though (as someone who has been reading all of the Batman Rebirth titles) Batman seems to be Traveling quite a bit lately, for so much to have been happening in Gotham....I would have liked to have seen a 'nod' to recent events in "Batman" and "Detective"
And, bizarrely, it works. It ignores so many common tropes associated with The Dark Knight; the dark and claustrophobic architecture is replaced by colorful outdoor scenery. The somber, self-serious tone is somewhat more crass and humorous than you'd expect. Despite this, though, it still feels like Batman; never once does the story betray the heart of the character we know and love. It's almost what an Indie comic would do with the caped crusader, and with Batman getting as much exposure and limelight as he does, the variety brings some fresh air to the title. If you or someone you know is looking for a Batman tale that shakes up the mold, this is the place to look.
I enjoyed this alot. It was nice to see batman out of his comfort zone.
I was really excited when I heard John Romita jr was doing the pencils. I was born in 86 so when I was a kid I collected batman and Spider-Man comics. Alot of those Spider-Man comics Romita did the pencils so it was nice to see him again.
Overall excellent start too all star. Can't think of another batman story I've read like this. It was fresh, fast pace and a little over the top.
Right now it's a good time to be a Batman fan. Not only is all star good but Tom King's Batman is also good and James Tynion IV Detective Comics is amazing. Just buy all three.
