From Booklist

The next in Deveraux’s Nantucket Brides trilogy begins at a wedding where the groom’s cousin, Prince Graydon Montgomery of tiny Lanconia, spies bridesmaid Toby Wyndam. He’s flummoxed when he realizes Toby can tell him apart from his twin brother, Rory, a feat that in family legend means Graydon and Toby are meant for each other. Wanting to spend more time with her, Graydon trades places with Rory, devising a way that Rory can keep up with affairs of state via cell phone while Graydon becomes not an heir to a kingdom, but rather a man enjoying himself for a week. When Rory breaks his arm, Graydon’s stay with Toby is extended. Even though she finds herself falling for him, Toby knows theirs is only a temporary fling. All goes well until the past overtakes the present when Graydon and Toby begin reliving similar lives in early Nantucket via a haunted house. Readers are strongly urged to read the first of the series, True Love (2013), in order to grasp all the complicated relationships before tackling this second book. --Pat Henshaw

I'll be honest: I liked the Edilean series. I was disappointed when I heard Jude was abandoning it to return to the Montgomery-Taggerts. Having said that, it seems that Jude has entered a second Renaissance with this series, and this book is just everything a fan could ask for, and then some.

Graydon Montgomery is the Crown Prince of Lanconia. He has come to Nantucket with his twin, Rory, for the wedding of Jared Montgomery Kingsley to Alix Madsen (Book 1 in the series, True Love.) He's immediately smitten with bridesmaid Toby Wyndam, who has simply never found a man worthy of tempting her into a love affair. However, Graydon is engaged-to-be-engaged to an appropriate lady in Lanconia. Graydon immediately tells Toby who he is, thankfully, so there's none of this "I have to tell you something..." later. They start out as friends. Graydon arranges to stay on Nantucket for a week while his twin pretends to be him back home. As Graydon and Toby get to know each other better, they are swept back into the past to fix a two-hundred-year-old love affair that ended in tragedy.

For a veteran Jude fan, this book is like a wish list woven together as enthralling entertainment. The return of the Lanconians! Many inside-joke references to past Mongomery books! (Toby is "A Maiden," wink-wink, nudge-nudge!) Time travel! A cameo by J.T. and Aria!!!! (I know, they HAVE to be in their 90s, but...hey, royalty lives long lives, right? Look at Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.) And even though you might think halfway through that the ending is going to be predictable...it's not.

Even though it's difficult for me, someone who has read Jude Deveraux's books for about 25 years, I tried to seriously look at this from the point of view of the non-fan.

This is what I wrote to Jude on her fan page:
Jude, I just finished reading For All Time. I totally loved it! The moment I started reading I didn't want to put it down. Unfortunately I had to go to work. Each lunch hour I read, and almost was late coming back from lunch. Today, finally able to have a leisurely Saturday morning to sit on my comfy patio swing, amongst my garden, the finches and hummingbirds I was able to climb into the lives of Toby/Tabitha and Graydon/Garrett. Such a beautiful love story! I didn't want it to ever end...perhaps it won't. Thank you for staying true to yourself in your writing and not letting the naysayers keep a good storyteller down. I know I will read this book again and again as I have ALL of your others. Thank you for keeping the young romantic heart of this 60 year old woman forever young and believing in love.

It was very confusing. There were too many past people from the other stories. This was not one of Jude's best.

Jude Deveraux, I adore you. Throughout the years, you've made me laugh, smile and cry. I've wanted my own Montgomery man and have wanted a little of the magic you create in my real life.

I would give you five stars just for being Jude Devereaux.

But as a reviewer, I can't do that.

I stayed through the extremely long first dream sequence, even as I yawned. I stayed through the second with a determination that surprised me. I stayed through the third dream sequence with a groan. I even got through some of the time travel. And then I realized that I couldn't finish this book.

My favorite romance in the book was between two minor characters. And though I loved Toby, Graydon had the personality of a Ken doll.

Ms. Devereaux, I'm not through with reading you. I'll be back. I'm just going to skip this little trilogy. You are a five star writer - this is just a one star book for me.

For All Time: A Nantucket Brides Novel (Nantucket Brides Trilogy Book 2) by Jude Deveraux. At the wedding of Alix Madsen and Jared Montgomery, Jared's cousin, Graydon can't look away from bridesmaid, Toby Wyndam. It's not just her quiet beauty or humor. Toby possesses the truly remarkable ability of being able to distinguish Graydon from his identical twin brother, Rory. According to family legend, such a gift marks her as Graydon's True Love. Graydon is heir to the Lanconian throne and must marry a noble woman who has been chosen for him. Yet, intrigued by Toby, he asks her to help him hide on Nantucket for a week away from regal responsibilities. Knowing their union to be impossible, they promise to simply be friends. But there are forces at work beyond their control, which are ruled by time itself and a seductive spell is cast over Graydon and Toby. If they are to be together, they must change what once was in the past, as well as what will be in the future. Read Alix and Jared's unforgettable love story in True Love, the first in the Nantucket Brides trilogy. Anyone who reads her stories know she writes about the Montgomery family from centuries ago to modern time. All are exceptional books.

FOR ALL TIME is the second book in the Nantucket Brides Trilogy. It is also related to Deveraux’s long running Montgomery-Taggert family series. This book begins at the wedding for the couple in the first book of the trilogy. This book is about Graydon Montgomery and Toby Wyndam. Toby is a bridesmaid and Graydon can’t stop watching her. According to family legend Toby is perfect for Graydon because she can tell the difference between him and his identical twin. Graydon is the crown prince of Lanconia and already has his bride picked out for him. Graydon, however, is intrigued by Toby and when the opportunity presents itself, he convinces his twin brother to take his place while Graydon remains in Nantucket to spend time with Toby.

The book examines issues of fate, destiny, time travel, obligation, duty and love. Graydon is definitely enamored of Toby but doesn’t intend to do more than spend time with her because he knows that it is his duty to marry the woman chosen for him and he doesn’t intend on having a sexual relationship with Toby. I really liked Graydon and Toby and it was clear from the beginning that these two were meant to be together.

I don’t know whether it is common for Deveraux to have time travel elements in her books, but of the couple of books I have read, that theme has appeared in most of the books. In this case, the time travel allows the characters to escape their fixed lives and see their problem in another form. It did seem to me that the time travel element was a way of allowing these characters to engage in sex without having to face the real complications in present time.

I will state that I haven’t read the first book in the trilogy so I have no idea what effect that book would have on my view of the book.
