There is not much of a story here, but there is a logical progression. It appeals on the level of the individual page as well as the movement through the book.
Children as young as 3 years old can probably memorize the entire book but it's still interesting and readable for adults. I believe it harkens to an earlier time, a simpler time, and focuses on some of the best things in life.
I have high standards for my children's toys and books. This book surpasses my expectations. I would recommend it as a gift for friends or family. Also good for teaching or classroom use. If you purchase it for your own children, expect to read it daily, but it's not at all tedious. It's a pleasure for me to read every time.

The book I initially received had a couple of pages stuck together and could not be separated to read; however, the defective book was collected and replaced the next day. Such an impressive service.
