Further update after several months of use. I have come to the conclusion that these bulbs are a complete waste. The LED's themselves are fine. Nice and bright. The connectors on the other hand are total garbage. I have been pulled over twice now because these bulbs absolutely refuse to keep decent contact inside the plug. I can pull the pigtail out and wiggle the bulb and watch it flicker on and off. The standard incandescent bulbs I put back in it have no such issue. I would not advise anyone buy these as they are a safety hazard due to the fact that they can randomly vibrate loose enough to stop working. I would return them if I could.
UPDATE WITH A WARNING: MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE THE CONTACTS IN YOUR SOCKET ARE CLEAN AND THE CONTACTS ON THE BULBS ARE BENT OUTWARD ENOUGH TO ACTUALLY TOUCH THEM.
I'm writing this little warning update into my review because I had a blink out issue arise that caused me to be pulled over and then ARRESTED.
Just a bit of a disclaimer, the bulbs are not what caused the arrest, that was due to a mistake on the side of the court system where I live.
HOWEVER had the bulbs kept good contact in the first place I wouldn't have been pulled over to begin with.
I'm in the process of replacing pretty much all of the lights in my 99 frontier with LEDs. these brake lights have made a great addition as well. They're nice and bright with very noticeable brightening during braking. For anyone receiving "duds" try turning the bulb 180° and check again. LEDs generally only work when oriented the correct way.
My suggestion to the manufactures would be to label which contact is positive and negative. With some fixtures these bulbs go into it's really easy to tell the orientation just by the wire colors leading to the socket. I actually marked mine after checking polarity on the bulbs with a multimeter just to be sure I didn't damage the lights.
