This book was mentioned again by a workshop presenter on Nutrition and mental health that I am studying. About 20 or 30 years ago a neighbor loaned me this book after it helped her deal with a son who was having learning and behavior issues. I decided I needed to keep it in my library since I primarily work with elementary students with these problems. The lunches they bring to school are atrocious!

This is a classic that can help those who are suffering from maladies for which traditional medical practice cannot find an answer. It will help many who suffer to know that the answers are within reach and simple. A must-read.

With the reviews for this book I wanted to like it. As I read through there were several pieces of information which were inconsistent with current knowledge. After reading some cited research which was obviously out of date (psychoanalysis, chemotherapy and ECT are the primary means for treating mental disorders) I looked at the citations. I could not find any research more recent than 1977. For a book updated in 2000 they should have included research that is more up-to-date. This book does have basic information related to general nutrition, but other than this has no value due to the research being so far behind current knowledge.

Psychiatrists and the pharmaceutical industry detest Dr Philpot, who declared to have cured 100% of a nonexistent disease that generates trillions or more of dollars. I had personal experience with him, who discovered another completely different thing that was causing the symptoms of what the industry calls schizophrenia. Since then my friend, who lived 5 years mental hospitals, has lived a compleyely normal lufe, married, has normal grown UP children.
