About the author

Niagara-based Laurie Sadowski's love of food began at a young age, but her creativity in the kitchen began when she was diagnosed with celiac disease. Adopting a vegan diet led to further interest in everything food, soon winning the vegetarian category in a national recipe cook-off and becoming a regular food columnist for her local newspaper. Of considerable importance, beyond the fabulous and imaginative variety of appetizing recipes, is the surrounding support information to be found in each of the three books; information which is of great assistance to the neophyte cook (such as this gluten-free celiac) or to helpfully expanding the knowledge of those more experienced in the kitchen.
With "Makes Pies and Desserts", Laurie Sadowski has again shown an amazing sensitivity in her recipes for all those having any gluten, dairy, or egg-free concerns. She is truly, as her book title suggests, "The Allergy Free Cook".
