Ive has these sheets for probably 15 years. The same ones. I was surprised to see them on amazon as I purchased them online before I even knew amazon was a thing (quite possibly before amazon WAS a thing) and I figured you couldn’t buy them anymore. I didn’t even know I could wash them to revive them!! I’ve never washed mine and they’re still working really well. I live in a very dry climate and in the dead of winter I get minimal static on things like fleece, but it’s never been too much of an issue. I’ve always used both sheets in each load (those were the instructions mine came with) and they work really well. I came to amazon to try to find them today because I’ve finally decided to get a second set for when my son has the original set in his clean laundry pile for days on end. I need a backup set! But I still plan to use my very old set - they still work great!!

Not magical, but I can tell if I didn't use it

I'd searched for several years for something that would reduce static without leaving carcinogenic particles behind on my laundry, and this is by far the best I've found. While wool dryer balls are great at reducing dry time, I haven't found they do a thing about static like they claim to. Liquid, eco-friendly fabric softeners, while fine for softening effect, likewise have no discernible effect on static. These, on the other hand, genuinely do. It's not magical; if you've got a load with a bunch of polyester fleece and you over-dry it, there will be static. But for a regular load, mostly cotton, that gets pulled out right at, or slightly before, bone dry, these make a big difference. I find I generally need both sheets, but I've been using them with a family of four for about a year now, and they're still going strong. I'll be buying them again if these ever do wear out.

In the summer, when humidity levels are moderate, this product works very well to eliminate basically all static from the laundry. In the winter, when humidity is low and static is at its worst, it does not work very well (though it still works better than no sheet at all). On very dry days, even using both sheets at once won't get rid of all the static when disposable sheets will.

In short: if you live somewhere where the humidity stays reasonably high, this product is a no-brainer if you want to reduce waste. For climates with low humidity, it still works, just not as well as disposable sheets, so you may want to consider keeping a box of disposable sheets around for really dry days.

Edit: I've had this product for about a little under a year now and moved to a new place. I am not sure what exactly change made the difference, but these sheets are working perfectly this winter.

They really work for taking the static out of clothes. Living in AZ, we have a very dry climate as it is, which only adds to any static charges, anywhere. I use two of these in my Maytag larger front-load dryer, together with 4 dryer balls, and it's made a big difference. I'm no longer being electrocuted when emptying the dryer :)

I have been using these for a couple months now. They seem to work pretty great! I use them in combination with wool dryer balls. I haven't seen any static really (maybe a teensy tiny bit with my workout pants, but WAY less than before), and overall I would definitely recommend them! I got rid of my regular dryer sheets after learning about the toxic chemicals in them. As I'm trying to get pregnant, I definitely don't want anything toxic near my body or my family! These do the trick!

UPDATE, 9/27/2014: I used these static eliminator sheets through 3 winters. Product description says they're good for over 500 cycles. Given that I've been happy with them this long, I'll replace them this winter if necessary and am upping my review from four stars to five. A pleasant surprise is that the current price of $14.99 is 51 cents less than what I paid in 2011.

When it's cold in our very dry climate, the effect of static electricity on clothes from the dryer is huge and results in wrestling matches with my laundry. I add vinegar to the washing machine's rinse cycle, which helps combat static a little but isn't enough on its own. I tried dryer balls and couldn't tell any difference.

I was skeptical that these sheets would make much difference with our winter static problem, but they do. Items that normally would be a clingy, crackling mess -- flannel sheets, fleece items, fuzzy robes--are tamer when these are used. For average items, the static is eliminated entirely. Fleeces and flannels, the most static-electrified fabrics out of the dryer, are still static-affected but much more manageable. I've used this product for about 4 months now, several times weekly, and am glad I found it.

I'd say they prevent about 90% of the static you would normally expect to have if you didn't use any dryer sheets. I've been exposing my family to the chemicals they put in dryer sheets and spending all that money all those years when I could have been using these things!
