Colorful illustrated children's book about why an alligator wants to be more like a dog-because everybody likes dogs.
He gets some help from the dog but it's not making him into a dog...
He tries other things to no avail til the very last day of the very last minute...
Other works by the author are highlighted at the end.
My biggest issue with this book is that it seemed at times to be saying it wasn't good enough to be an alligator unless you were like a dog. My grandson has Down Syndrome so this isn't a message I want to put across. Unfortunately I hadn't read the book before I took the iPad out and started on it with him. I then had to emphasize this is a story and being different is just as good as being a dog.
Alligator frightens people away with his toothy smile. He decides he wants to be a dog so he can make friends & not feel lonely. It is a cleverly written story with entertaining illustrations. Can alligator actually become a dog? Will perseverance pay off?
