Upon opening the package I noticed that the knob could be lifted more than a quarter of an inch up and down from the tightened steering wheel clamp. I thought that was odd because the back of the package states that the "ROTATING KNOB is MOUNTED ON BALL BEARINGS"
That is a lie. You can take the top of the knob off with a small Phillips screwdriver and remove the only bolt that holds the whole thing together.
There are no bearings or bearing in it at all!
It cost less than $10.00 so it is not cost effective to return it to China.
I confirmed with the California DMV that it was legal to drive this way. Make sure you verify with your state about one arm driving legality. When I removed the Spinner from the wheel, there was some compression dent on the wheel, but nothing serious. It would have been worse if the spinner had spikes. The retail price of the Spinner is cheap, but note that the shipping price is an additonal $6.95.
Also, the design puts the hinged part of the bracket on the outside of the wheel, so if you let the wheel spin in your hands while coming out of a turn, you're gonna get whacked in the hand by the hinge.
Overall....it's worth 10 bucks.
