Overall a good rivet gun, but there are no instructions included! Out of the box it jammed on the first rivet. Searching the web I found that you need to do two things to set the gun up for first use. First, you have to unscrew the bottom of the air cylinder, use pliers to pull out the plunger and top off the hydraulic fluid in the handle's chamber. Removing the bottom took enormous force the first time to remove so be prepared. They do include two wrenches for doing these procedures. Second you need to remove the chrome nut at the bottom of the gun which houses the actuator. Put a couple of drops of hydraulic fluid in there for lubrication. After I did this the gun has performed perfectly and I've set about 400 rivets with it. The project I'm doing will require over 1200 rivets so if I have any issues I will update this review. I should mention that the recommended hydraulic fluid is 10W or ISO32 weight, you should be able to find a small bottle of hydraulic jack fluid with those specs pretty easily. Also the recommended PSI for operation is 90 but I found it works just fine at 60.

UPDATE: Have now set over 2500 rivets with this gun with no problems. Still working like a champ and have not needed to do any maintenance on it.

Great Rivet gun for the money. You will need a swivel air fitting for the base air inlet and a short pigtail air line for convenience of use. Sent to Toyota dealerships in the southeast for FJ cruiser recall repair perposes.

If you have eve used a knuckle-buster rivet gun for hours, you will love this.
Solid tool, never a misfire. although there were NO instructions, and it looks like this was previously opened, I figured it out.

Another reviewer suggested removing the base, etc. It's not necessary. There are 3 places to add oil, If you put a few drops in those and work the lever, that should shake out any lock in the doo-hickey. Don't take it apart, it's a brute mess, and completely un-needed unless you want to tinker.

I've had this rivet gun for a couple of months now and I've set hundreds of rivets. The gun worked flawlessly right out of the box. Absolutely better than hand-setting rivets. This was a great purchase.

Yesterday was the first chance that I have had to use my new Allstar pneumatic rivet gun. I took the advice of another Amazon reviewer and prepped the gun by adding a few drops of air tool oil to both the air inlet chamber and the pneumatic cylinder chamber. I did not pull the plunger out of the pneumatic cylinder chamber to top-off the fluid. I just added some air tool oil to the chamber and worked the plunger by hand to ensure that the seal was well lubricated. I've only set about 25-30 rivets so far, but this gun has worked flawlessly and has quickly become my favorite tool.

So, to sum it all up, this gun works great. At $60 this tool is worth every penny. I would recommend this tool to anyone who is tired of the old-school "knucklebuster" riveter. I'll be sure to edit my review and let you know how this gun holds up after a few thousand rivets.

Update 10/12/13: a couple hundred rivets and still going strong!!

Used it the day I got it. Put a couple drops of oil in, before connecting the air line changed the tip for the rivets that I was using and I was putting in rivets with ease. The tube to catch the rivet studs is very nice, no mess when your done pull it off and dump it in the trash. I don't put in hundred of rivets a day, but I have used it now 4 or 5 times, I have not had any problems at all. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is that there was no instruction included, you are pretty much on your own to figure things out.

This is made by Marson. A coworker bought practically the same rivet gun off the tool truck for 3 times the price.
