Great to Repurpose Mini PCI-E WiFi Card

This adapter card saved me some money on having to buy a dedicated wifi card. My old motherboard stopped working so I purchased a cheaper replacement without built-in wifi, but was able to use this card to install the nice mini pcie AC wifi card from my old mobo with no additional drivers and with the original antenna. All I did was remove the mini card and back panel antenna leads and then install them onto this adapter, plugged it in, turned on my computer and wifi was back, no additional drivers needed. My only complaint is that this adapter did not come with any screws for securing the mini pcie card, and the screws on my old mobo weren't the same size.. did some poking around my desk and found some screws that fit, but I would've been very dissapointed had I not found any. Note to the seller allytech, add some screws! Why risk poor reviews for something so cheap and easy to include?

Mounting screw holes are metric, and not the standard ones all my other mini-PCIE cards use (I beleive I eventually found they are M2.5). And it didn't come with screws (not surprising, as none are pictured). Works well for full length mini-PCIe once you remove (de-solder) the half height mounts (the half height mounts on mine were just off enough that cards didn't fit).

Once all the shortcomings are resolved for your application it DOES properly connect a mPCIe card to a desktop x1 PCIe slot.

No Screws or Antenna Included

The card works, I just wish it would have come with screws. The screw size must be metric, because we searched through about 100 screws trying to find one that fit, and came up with nothing. We wound up forcing in a screw slightly too large down as far as we could to get the mini pci e card to stay in.

It also didn't come with the black antenna in the pictures. Fortunately, we had an existing one to use.
