Anyone who grew up here or lives in the area now and appreciates it, would undoubtedly enjoy this book. Just about every neighborhood along Montauk Highway from Babylon to Oakdale is touched upon, as well as the rich history of nearby waters. Read this book and your surroundings begin to make much more sense. The names of local roads, neighborhoods, restaurants, parks, teams- whatever, take on a new meaning when you understand their origins.
