The only issue I have with this book was the world (or space) development. For the most part, I feel the author explained a lot. Some aspects were a little underdeveloped & it left me with questions. More may be revealed throughout the series; however, it appears each book has a different alien male species as the MC (this may impact the info we receive if they aren't crew members of the Sinner's ship). Throughout the info gaps, nothing appeared to prohibit the reading of the story. It just would of helped me understand this world a lot more.
* How was GreGre allowed to just hand-out a solar system to the MMC? Is it just the family owns different systems just like ppl own land? It's not necessary to the storyline, but a question I have.
* How did the IDA form? Is it a govnt sanctioned thing or a private organization? Which planet, species, etc started it? Since the story mentioned that there're offices all over different planets & galaxies. I expected more backstory than: this agency does interspecies bride service, except the "D" in the agency's name literally means 'dating' not 'marriage'...
* What is the metal-lord ritual? How are metal-lords even identified? Are there other "lord" types? I at least expected these to be explained.
My Actual Review:
The characters have amazing depth and complexity. The female lead is pretty on point for someone who went through what she did—and as someone who suffers from a worker’s comp injury done to me because of someone else’s greedy negligence, YEAH it is in your thoughts a lot and does take a big steaming dump on a lot of your life. I also really liked that the author captured two adults who make the conscious decision to listen to their own hearts instead of sinking into practicality and missing an opportunity for more.
People talk about what a romance novel (or any great novel) should be, this is a great example: people *making* a connection, and choosing to put themselves out there. The characters and their world are rock solid in this book. I look forward to reading more from this author and more in this series.
It had romance, action, and various Aliens. What it didn't have was an appealing Heroine, because I couldn't quite sympathize with her character. Her personality was very inconsistent and abrupt. This book did, however, have a HEA. The next book appears to be about one of the Heroine's Roomies (who we know very little about) , along with one of the supporting character Aliens. I may consider purchasing that second book, because this first one was a quick and easy read.

This was a lovely story that had a well thought out storyline, a credible source of danger and a sweet ending at its conclusion. Very enjoyable and a nice easy read to get lost in. Well written and easy to read and understand.
My first book by this author but I can see that she clearly has a good imagination and more stories to tell. This took an unexpected turn as when Sin turned up collect his ‘bride’ she had absolutely no idea what on Earth he was talking about. Turns out someone else has applied to find their perfect match which leaves Sin in rather a quandary. Zoe is someone who has been through a lot and physically she is still having issues but that doesn’t stop her from standing up to Sin, I liked this juxtaposition as even when fragile Zoe could be strong.
So if I liked it why not a higher rating? Well actually in spite of obvious and physical differences at times Sin just didn’t strike me as particularly alien ! He’s possibly a lot nicer than I wanted , his manner is sweet and even his crew whilst admittedly physically very different to humans just felt very ordinary. I think I must prefer the more dominant types that often appear in alien romance but I do hasten to reassure my fellow readers that this was an entertaining book and one I would recommend.
The characters are great. Interesting plot. Page turner.
It looks like I’ve found a new author to binge-read!
