The receiver has nothing coming out it's AMP CONT wire, (multimeter tested) so tried finding ignition 12v source to hook amp remote to. Whatever I find the amp stays in PROTECTION MODE.
Amp grounded to seat mounting bolt.
At this point I will source an installer, something probably will be returned.

The differences between the two are not obvious. Both look VERY similar on paper. Both have excellent noise and distortion specifications. They both have the same rated power output. The do however sound different. The Alpine sounds more smooth and less harsh when driven hard, especially in the treble. The Alpine can play louder. This could be because the lower audible distortion.
The amp has differential ground isolated RCA inputs. This prevents engine noise. You can also drive them as balanced out from a DSP processor.
I am not a fan of the mechanical design. The amp does run HOT. The RCA's seem flimsy as they are mechanically attached to the circuit board inside. I do not like the trim ring that covers the mounting holes. I challenge anyone top get the trim ring on an off with no tool marks, without the aide of cell phone repair tools.
If you want a small amp that sounds good, I suggest this one.
