2013 release from John & Yoko's son. Sweeping orchestral arrangements, surf guitar, epic superhero themes & a touch of eerie that recalls Twin Peaks. All of these diverse elements blend seamlessly together on Sean Lennon's Alter Egos film score - the musical backdrop for a comedic alternate reality that flips the superhero genre on its head. Lennon acts as both composer and performer on the 20 song soundtrack. Miho Hatori (Cibo Matto) lends her voice talents on a few tracks.

If the Hollywood studios ever take notice, Sean could easily become the next Henry Mancini or John Williams - he is that talented.
Supercore. Again with the great amazingly heartwrenching melody work. Amazing how the melody surpasses all. It decimates production, sound, tone, all of it. That one was too short. The Flight. Using AKG 414s on the trombones I wonder. Back to some surreal stuff. The Dance Pt 1. Safe to say this movie must be pretty dark, black humor. I hope it's a good movie. This song is unsettling. Must serve a purpose in the film. Shrink's Theme. The shrink is maybe the villain in this movie? This one's tricky. Ther'es a bit of Tim Burton happening throughout here I am also realizing. Tits. About time! Nice eastern chromatic sort of melody thing. Short one. Jimmy's Drunk. I've never heard such a good representation of a clock in music. If that's what it is supposed to be. Great instruments here. Super weird. This movie must have really gone off the rails. OK< last song. Exile. Kind of hoping to get let off the hook here. And cue the banjo. thank you Sean! This is a nice one. ANother one I secretly wish he would start singing about what he saw today or what he thought about. WIth this music would be nice.
Love the chord progression and off-the-gridness. And that's it, it's over. TO SUM UP: TOP TRACKS: main theme, my hero, fridge walks, the shrink, exile. You know there's something most music reviewers never do. Just talk about how the record makes you feel. This record made me feel dangerous, inspired, challenged, humored, and a bit like i was on acid at times. I will certainly let it spin when the vinyl arrives. it makes me want more from this artist. Soon. And that's all i have to say.
