Book Review: 4,5 stars

Tara Sue Me is one of my favorite authors. Her writing style is smooth, sexy, and very entertaining. Did I mention KINKY? Oh God yes! She writes super sexy kinky books and this short is definitely one kinky story.

And when I say short story I mean a really short story. At first I thought it was novella length short, but nope, it's shorter! It doesn’t matter though, (But it doesn't matter, )because it is very cool!

This juicy little tale is about Emma Olson, a nurse who is looking for work. Her last chance is to take a job working for William Richard Richardson, III. Well, not for him directly–––but to take care of his elderly grandmother. And here's the trick about the job: no other nurse has lasted more than one week!

He was a third, which meant his father, William Richard Richardson, Jr., had not only lived with that name, but actually bestowed it upon his son. Rich people were funny. She tilted her head and wondered if anyone ever called either of them Willie Dick?

I really enjoyed this story, I recommend it to everyone who loves reading soft kinky romance! ;)

I'm sorry, while this wasn't a completely unenjoyable short story, it certainly wasn't kinky or scorching by any means. It was just an ok, short, little afternoon read. Something like this should not even have cost $0.99. I found that the characters had promise but the heroine a little too back and forth in her thoughts. I understand it was sold as soft short romance but I guess the short part took away from the romance part. For as long as this was available for preorder it could have been so much more.

This story was ruined for me as dominance games in sex are a real turnoff. I also found that getting rid of her competition Rosa was too pat. There was nothing to it. It was like the author was trying to simplify things too much.

"I am your last hope" Emma, a nurse desperately needs a job. She is hired by a wealthy man who is caring for his sick grandmother. Lots of sexual tension and verbal sparring create an unlikely bond. Short, but great read. Hopefully Tara Sue will continue this story.

A great deviation from her Submissive series. Emma is a tough as nails, honest and hard working woman who has been put in a bad situation. She is out of a job and needing one desperately. Her options are limited and so she turns to a home nursing position in which the nurses don’t seem to stay long. William is the geeky gorgeous nerd who is hiring. He isn’t what anyone expects in a nerd. He is a little cocky and a lot sexy. He does have this side to him that is sweet and kind and when it comes to Emma he is everything. Cocky, fun, sweet, kind, and sexy as sin.

They try to fight the attraction so that Emma doesn’t leave but in the end the Grandma turns those tides. She is hard on the nurses that won’t make a good mate for her grandson. With Emma she is a sweet lady. This has Emma believing that it’s her grandson who chases off the nurses. Little does she know what is hidden behind that geeky exterior. When she finds out it is harder than ever to fight her need to be with William but both do because she needs the job and he wants her to stay.

When they finally do come together it’s explosive, erotic and sexy. How he opens up in the end so that she feels wanted and loved is beautiful and shows the sweet, loving side of William.

This is a fun sweet and sexy book. We have the geek who seems arrogant and cocky but is really a nice guy who loves his grandma and wants her to be comfortable. The grandma who wants to find someone for her grandson before she goes and the nurse who needs the job and is fighting an attraction she doesn’t want. When the elements combine we get a book that has some fun snark, hot romance and a sweet ending that puts a smile on your face.

Tara Sue Me is writing under Cat Waters in this new short story, Altered Allies. At around 40 pages long, it’s good to read as a taste of what she will be offering. I devoured this in 30 minutes. William Richardson is a wealthy IT geek looking for a live in nurse to care for his dying grandmother. Emma Olson applies for the job after after her termination from a local hospital has her embroiled in legal troubles. Her research shows that William has a poor track record with nurses…they only seem to be able to handle a few days before they bolt out the door. She thinks she’s up for the challenge, but she has no idea what she’s getting in to.

Let’s just say that I believe this could have had the potential to be fleshed out into at least a novella length work. There is instant attraction between these two, and William comes on strong. Emma is the one who holds back and tries to keep things professional between them. I found him really intriguing as the clean cut, but handsome geek who has a kinky side. My favorite type of character. In the end, the attraction proves too much and they give in. It’s scorching hot with a bit of kink. There’s great chemistry between the characters and the dialog is sexy. This one left me drooling for more. I want to see William and Emma again!
