Book Description

August 10, 2007
Altered States addresses the two greatest challenges of human consciousness: death and holiness. The questions are: What happens when you die? and What is holy? These two concerns drive culture and civilization, and shape all human experience, personal and communal. History and literature bear testimony to this conscious preoccupation. Yet, one must ask, Is there any consensus on the subject of death and the holy? Is there anything that can be called “truth?” Altered States offers surprising answers. The text comprises two major essays, “The State of the Dead,” and “The State of the Holy.” Dr. Yeagley has provided a wide scope of research for each, and the essays inevitably involve elements of philosophy, anthropology, archeology, sociology, psychology, literature, and of course, religion.

Is it possible to assure a work based on professional "research" and authority on "The State of Death" that lack substantial definitive authority - that lies beyond death? Also it is not possible those who've deliberately perverted translations of the Hebrew and Aramaic sacred biblical records of another culture's historical relationship with and worship of the One True God. Those that - acquiring the biblical scriptures primarily through seizures of invasions led by the Church of England (Catholic Church) - who have since the thefts claimed ownership of and authority over their cultural and historical history that completely obliterated the role of their true owners can in no way whatsoever achieve true spirituality sufficiently complete to discourse on the subject of "Holiness" - particularly as a society of godless hypocrites with a history and culture of savagery steeped in absolute opposition to every principle of holiness? I find both defects to be extraordinary important - and cannot be overcome even with the bravado of inbred arrogance - and therefore completely devoid of all credibility. The continent of Europe - since the 17th Century - that became the British Empire - slaughtered nearly 16 million Native Americans to invade and take over North America in the name of "religious freedom" - slaughtered 16 million Congolese to take the rich resources of the country all for themselves in a savagely murderous frenzy and in complete disregard for human life - the committal of Deadly Sin for covetous greed.
