If you do not plan to use this mixer as a USB interface, it's great. It does produce some noise. But overall performs very well for a mixer in this price range.
I did get some hum when I connected it via the USB to my DAW. However it is something with the connection or the computer, as the hum stops when I close the DAW. It is most audible when sending signal from the computer to the mixer. When I turned that off, the hum is imperceptible at normal levels. I use USB to record from the mixer, then use a normal analog (headphone jack) connection to send sound from the computer to the mixer and it works fine.
All in all, a very good mixer and a great value at this price point.
I've not yet explored the full range of functions offered by the 802. I play in a duo and run two mics and two acoustic/electric guitars through the mixer. The sound is crystal clear. All of the effects sound good in my living room, but to this point, the only effects I've sampled in a playing situation and at volume, are a few of the reverb plus delay settings & a couple of the plate reverbs. Once I dialed in a setting that sounded good in the room, I let well enough alone. The quality of the effects themselves are to my ear, top notch.
I'm giving the 802 a four rather than five star rating only because I haven't fully explored its complete range of functionality. That being said every function I have tried has been five star quality. If everything pans out as it appears that it will, I'll be back to award that fifth star.
