Once they are secured on your wrist there is lot of strap to work with, about 8 inches, which I like so you can get a real nice cinch on the bar.
Replacing my favorite straps which were starting to tear after 10yrs or so.
These are my new favorite straps and as they are a lot like my old ones, well made with good material, they should last for years of continuous use.
The inner padding is a bonus.
Beware, there are lifting straps sold by Amazon that are thin, too short and made of cheap flimsy material... these are not those straps.
You will not be disappointed with these Altus lifting straps.
That said, while I'm not entirely certain these are actually Atlus straps, though they do appear to be of similar quality to the genuine pair I lost. I'll update this review if they end up falling apart on me - for now, just be aware that you won't be receiving a branded product when you order these from this seller.
Nov 2014 Update: After months of using these, genuine Altus or not, they're holding up well. They look about as new as the day I got them and I've used them at least 2x a week for heavy deadlifts, rack pulls, etc. No fraying, tearing, or loose seams. I'm increasing my rating to 4/5 because they're proving to be durable, but still of questionable origin - at least if you order from the aforementioned seller.
They fit awkward compared to my last ones, they have thinner padding, and that the nylon is a lot cheaper and thinner than before. I get that everything is Made in China now, but so were my last pair of Altus straps. Those were even cheaper than what I paid for these on Amazon, so how could something be more expensive in a few years, but even worse than before?
I'm going to use these as much as possible, starting now, and I'll edit my review if they rip soon. I'd say, pay the few extra bucks now and purchase a much better pair with thicker stitching, better padding, and higher quality construction. No need to risk injury just to save a few bucks. Seriously Altus, I'm not impressed and feel like uploading a picture of my older ones just to show how thin and cheap the new Altus straps are.
A friendly hint - using these will come on the expense of developing a more powerful grip, but that is to be expected. Any straps will do that and you might as well do grip muscles related exercises anyways.
The addition of the padding was helpful, as earlier models without padding tended to rub the skin raw.
The only downside is that these are not made for small women or people with small wrists. The helpful padding ends up in the way, sort of wadding up.
These are made from very heavy material and if I ever wear these out, I'll be buying more.

These are decent straps but I will be purchasing some with a higher quality next time.Published 7 days ago by Pkelley
There is nothing special about these. They are basic and do the trick. I use to use them very often for my back workouts because I go very heavy. Read morePublished 12 days ago by Alex C.
Would have lasted me years longer if I hadn't lost them lol ! Durable and comfortable.Published 3 months ago by Amazon Customer
So the material seems sturdy which is nice. The down fall for myself was the fact that i have small wrist so the straps didn't tighten around my wrist properly due to the padding. Read morePublished 3 months ago by Amazon Customer
they're simple, cheap and they do the job, I use it almost everyday and it still holds itself. It doesn't give enough support as the leather wrist wraps do but you can't really... Read morePublished 4 months ago by Amazon Customer
