UPDATE: I think I REALLY wish that Rick had killed every male member of that blonde's family, talk about useless mental midgets that are going to get somebody else killed. While I am at it, if we have 1 more "do-gooder" episode of "all life is precious" I am going to perform Seppuku using a damn can-opener.

You can always tell people that have never really watched this program since they always think it is all about zombies.

You can try to explain to them all day long that this is one of the best dramas that television has ever produced that just happens to have zombies in it and they would just look at you like you had lost your mind.

I cannot wait to see what this season brings, it became apparent last season that Rick has finally realized that nothing short of being ready to end ANY threat to the survivors survival has to be dealt with immediately and permanently. Too bad it took some of the characters longer to figure that out.

I expect to see more of this quality in Season 6 and hope we don't lose anymore of the main cast for awhile, these people become part of why you watch the show but those deaths impress upon us that this is also a show of survival and any lapses in that are usually very temporary.

So let's get started, Rick has definitely established himself as the alpha male for this new group and maybe our heroes and heroines can get a break this season and just learn to deal with each other but then again ........ where is the fun in that .

I was one of the people who said " how could they make a show with zombies and have it go on for so long? What is there to do?" However this show made me question that by season 2. I absolutely love this show. It is so suspensful, and they do a good job of not killing off too many main characters. However, this show will bring tears to your eyes, and the character development is absolutely wonderful.

The whole series is well written and acted. The struggles and "story lines of the characters" eclipse all the goons and gore. It is just so much better than it gets credit for being.

This series is AMAZING!! I use to be one of those people who would NOT watch zombies on a show. I would not want to even waste my time. But TWD series has me far beyond ADDICTED!! I can't get enough of it!! I was persuaded to watch the first season and I feel for it... then I have persuaded friends and family to watch it so they are fans now!! #diehardfan #love it #greatcast #awesomedirector #twd

As the series has evolved, the overall quality of the show has declined. The world created by the original comic books has been shown to be a fertile environment for drama, action, and conflict (man v man, man v environment, man v self). Yet as we move from season to season, the writers have struggled to maintain the same level of adrenaline pumping excitement which was injected to our collective consciousness with the first season. And that makes sense. It's the "Home Improvement" effect, Tim Allen is good at telling jokes, but after the first couple episodes we see the same shtick every week. This is where TWD writers are now, they stuggle to give us something new and it shows in the faux drama created in the relationships. Don't get me wrong, this is a hard thing to do as a writer, but it can be done (e.g. BBC's Sherlock). Unfortunately, TWD writers go for awkward and contrived scenarios which leave characters not reacting as we would expect a seasoned apocalypse survivor to react just so they can get caught by competing groups for the sole purpose of serving the plot. The show has transitioned from the living fighting to survive to a lawless soap opera with the occasional undead attack and a plethora of self aggrandizing monologues. I think there is an intentional move to that type of show. TWD execs know their core audience and the most fervent fans are quick to bear their emotions regarding the plot lines and criticism of where the show is going. All one has to do is read any social media thread regarding the character of Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and you get a sense of the maturity level of those who express their opinion and their disdain for those who disagree. In the end, I can't fault TWD for feeding the trolls, it is a good formula for longevity, but that does not guarantee the quality of the writing.

This season is well.....sort of boring, sort of "surprising," but overall still the walking dead and a dedicated fan....but maybe their weakest season so far. The story is a little constricted. I wish they could move beyond the comic book and make some of the characters the "star" of the season. I really would have liked to see more of Darryl and less of Carol...even though she is a bad ass. Loved that Rosita had more of a part this season...she is an impressive actress. Sort of was bored with the "Neegans." I liked the season finale, but wished they would have met the Neegans in episode 16 for the first time that way. Thought the group with Jesus was a little cheesy, and just drug out the season. I get the big picture and soul of the season, but still thought it was blah...just a little. Not really too excited about season 7....or wondering who is dead.
