About the Author
Lorraine Britt is a fourth generation Native Texan who is also immensely proud of her Louisiana heritage and solid Southern roots. As an enthusiastic lover of the written word, inspiration struck Lorraine and she began to bubble over with her own ideas. Grasping hold of her lifelong dreams, it wasn’t long before she was putting pen to paper and letting her fingers fly over a keyboard to bring her own characters to life. When she isn’t busy scribbling notes for her next idea you might find her whipping up delicious creations in the kitchen or putting miles on her car on road trip adventures. Lorraine is equally passionate about music, movies and sports. You’ll no doubt find these familiar themes woven throughout her books. Lorraine and her family currently make their home in northeast Texas. Always Faithful, Always Yours is Lorraine’s fourth release, following the release of The Cowboy in Me in April 2014, Love Knows No Bounds in June 2014, and The Passions of Honor in August 2014.

I honest think that within the first sentence I started to cry, and proceeded throughout the book. I warn you that this book will tear you apart and shake you to your core. The characters in this book from Maddy and Landry to Papa Gene and Mike are detailed and while not fully whole, I can honestly say that there is not a character in this book that I dislike. I will warn you that there are flashbacks in this book and while we all know I am NOT a fan of flashbacks in anyway, the author has written them in such a way that it completely flows, so that I actually enjoyed them, which is something that has never happened before.
The writing is smooth and while the main characters are detailed, there are large chunks of their lives that are missing, which I think if filled in would have added to the story.
This is NOT a light hearted romance, so if that’s what you are looking for, this is not the book for you. If you are looking for a book that an amazing tale that deals with real life issues…this is perfect.
I give Always Faithful, Always Yours 9 out of 10.
When I realized this book was about someone in the military, but also about two best friends that become lovers, I was so excited to get started! Landry and Madeline have been best friends since kindergarten. When Landry was having a hard day in school, because the kids were making fun of him, Maddy was there. Whenever Landry went through the hard times in his life, Maddy was always there. However, it went both ways. When Maddy's dreams of becoming a swimmer in the Olympics ended, Landry was there. No matter what they went through, they were there for each other. Now, Landry has been in a military accident, which caused his life to change dramatically. Things will never be the same for him. Madeline, as always, was there for him.....
"I've got this, Landry. We've got this. Don't you worry. We've got this."
What Madeline didn't plan on was the darkness that Landry would fall into. Landry is having a hard time with his new life style. He is pushing her away and not accepting any of the help she is offering. Little by little their friendship starts to change.
Madeline begins to have a hard time dealing with fact that he is pushing her away and starts slipping into a darkness of her own. With the inability to help Landry the way she wanted to, she starts to turn to alcohol. They both are drowning in their own sadness, and they don't see what is really going on around them.
The struggles that they both go through are situations that many people can relate to in real life. To see that their struggles were taking their friendship and tearing it apart was so heart breaking. I'm so glad that one of them finally realized what was going on between them and pulled it back together. I loved that they continued to be there for one another to get their lives and friendship back on track.
I loved reading about them as the grew up, and how they came together to make things better. I really enjoyed the parts when Landry would read Madeline's journals. Some of them brought tears to my eyes knowing how in love Maddy has always been with him, and how he thought he wasn't good enough for her.
My saddest memory was about prom night! I felt so bad for her, especially what Landry did to her. The words that Landry's grandfather told him is what brought tears to my eyes. As for my favorite quote, it was when they held each others hands, and at one point in each others lives, they both said.....
"We'll find you a new dream."
Ugh.... Recalling that gave me goosebumps all over again!!! Seriously one of the sweetest quotes I have every read!! I loved Madeline and Landry!!
Always Faithful, Always Yours is a soul wrenching, cry-your-eyes out story. This is a book that will leave you thinking weeks after you have finished reading. I loved that the usually taboo subjects are touched on - our warriors returning from war different from the person they were when they left. My heart truly broke for Landry and I loved watching him heal both physically and emotionally. I loved Maddy's devotion to Landry and her determination to help him in whatever way he needed. The book does take a detour that I never saw coming with Maddy's character but I am so grateful that the subject was covered. I highly recommend this book but be warned - once you begin you will not put the book down until you are finished.
