About the Author
Dr. Harry Croft is an eminent psychiatrist and Army veteran who has evaluated and treated over 6,000 veterans with PTSD. He is certified in Adult Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and Sex Therapy. His interest in PTSD began in 1973 when Dr. Croft directed the Drug and Alcohol Treatment Program at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Since that time, he has become recognized as a leading expert in diagnosing and treating those who suffer from this disorder. He is published in many respected medical journals, including Journal of the American Medical Association, Psychiatric Annals, and Psychiatry Magazine. He has given presentations to over 1000 groups of mental health professionals in all 50 states of the United States and seven foreign countries. Rev. Dr. Chrys Parker, J.D., is a chaplain, clergywoman, and trauma therapist specializing in the spiritual and psychological care of PTSD experienced by individuals as the result of combat, critical injuries, or sexual assault. Chaplain Parker is the Executive and Clinical Director of the Burn Recovery and Research Foundation of San Antonio, Texas. In 2010, in response to an invitation from the Office of the Commanding General, CENTCOM, Chaplain Parker and her colleague voluntarily deployed to establish the Spiritual Fitness Initiative, a new model of care and wellness maintenance for warriors.
