This is perfect for reading on days you have a case of the "Monday's"
Looking forward to reading the next books!
My mom said that Alycat exactly like my big brother. Sometimes he is discouraged to go to school. Recently, he enjoyed going to school especially when he plays golf after school. My Dad never gives up on him as he enjoyed playing the golf. My Dad took him to golf course for practices. Alycat and my big brother is the same as they never stop to find ways to enjoy the day. My big brother is part of the high schools golf team now because just like Alycat he find ways that he enjoys.
Alycat has a kind of heart just like my big brother who never doubt to help a stranger in need. Alycat will make you smile and teaches you to enjoy life.
Alycat is a very easy character for children to identify with. All children have frustrating days, but don't always realize that they have the tools to help themselves through it. With just a little bit of guidance from Mom cat, Alycat was able to solve her own problem. I loved that Alycat was able to voice her frustrations through music and help a friend at the same time. It was a definite bonus for me to be able to listen to the music in the book with a code online, this way I was able to sing along to the song with my son. The illustrations in the books are bright, colorful and simple enough for children to recognize features. My son enjoyed pointing out the cats, bus, and toys to me as we looked through. Overall, a fun book that gives children the tools to recognize and deal with their emotions.
This book was received for free in return for an honest review.
Alycat has a mishap during the day but it helps her find a talent to share. She makes up words to go with a friend’s instrument and they even bring her father into the group playing another accompanying instrument. The song is fun and I enjoyed singing it to my five-year-old granddaughter. She enjoyed the story and tried to sing the words too by the end.
The book is fully illustrated and shares a good story for children going to school but sometimes experiencing reluctance. The book came with a card with a code that allowed us to access the songs and coloring pages. My granddaughter was quite excited about these too, even though my version of the song wasn’t quite the same as the online song. 😊.
I enjoyed this light read and recommend it for sharing with early school age children. My rating 4.5.

It's Monday and Alycat does not want to go to school. The talent show is right around the corner, and she has no idea what she'll do. Her mother tries to encourage her and claims a solution will surely come, but Alycat is certain that she doesn't possess a single talent and will only make a fool out of herself.
Alycat is a sweet kitten with tons of heart. She might be in a bad mood, but her problem is easy to understand. Even though she's feeling down, Alycat thinks of others and radiates warmth and fun. It's this attitude which makes her easy to love and will have young readers cheering her on.
The illustrations are bright and draw into the story. Even when someone isn't around to read this book aloud, kids can flip through the pictures again and again, letting the story to come to life on their own. The text is fitting for ages 3 and up, and flows nicely. Alycat's excitement radiates through the words, especially when it hits the song she wrote. It's lively, fun and sure to make young readers sing along.
To top off all the sweetness, there's also a wonderful message woven in. Alycat realizes that she does have a talent, but sometimes, it takes just the right moment to discover what it is. Everyone has something special about them, even if they haven't discovered it yet. And this is a message young listeners/readers can never hear often enough.
Summed up, this is a cute picture book with a main character to snuggle and love. The singing adds a fun twist, which is sure to make kids smile even more.
I received a complimentary copy and enjoyed it so much (as did my daughter) that I wanted to leave my honest thoughts.
