I’ve been offered a job at the Night Firm.
To work for four of the hottest men I’ve ever met.
Correction. Four of the hottest vampires I’ve ever met.
They don’t tell me what I’ll be doing.
They don’t tell me where I’ll be working.
Simply that I am their only candidate.
If I take the job, I’ll gain financial freedom, a new home, and answers to questions better left unasked. But at what cost?
Because my new job is more than anything I could have ever imagined. It will take me to the home of Count Dracula and the den of a kitsune. To the paradise of Lilith and a world trapped in time. It will bind me to the most dangerous men alive. It will break me and make me whole.
I may lose them all to the Night brothers.
But in the end, it will be my choice.
My name is Eve Oliver.
Welcome to the Night Firm.
A vampire romance with bite! For fans of Stephenie Meyer, Cassandra Clare, Laurell K. Hamilton, Patrica Briggs, Bella Forrest, J.R. Ward and Sherrilyn Kenyon!

I’ve read several vampire books before and I don’t think I have ever read one where law and a murder trial is the primary focus. It was interesting and fun to read since it broke the typical vampire mold that I usually read. The murder trial of Dracula’s wife and child provided a lot of drama while allowing the reader to learn and understand the Otherworld. Even though the murder trial seemed to be taken care of by the end of this book, I’m not entirely sure how much the actual act of Mary’s murder will play a role into the series overall plot. Or if Dracula will make another appearance in later books to cause strife and turmoil.
Speaking of the overall plot, I am still not sure what to make of Eve. She is clearly not human but what she exactly is remains a mystery, which is hinted at several times but always seems to not matter to any of the main characters which I find to be odd and unbelievable. This book may just be setting up for a big story arc and plot twist reveal later in the series so that may be why it appeared to not be a bigger issue.
I love the characters but I do think the relationship building was lacking. By the end of the book, Eve has seemed to fall head over heels for all 4 of the vampire brothers without saying the cliche “I love you”. She is loyal and devoted to them all but I don’t think there was enough page time for me as the reader to understand how she ended up like that towards the brothers. I would have just expected a lot more deep and personal heart to heart moments between Eve and all of them in order for her to practically plead her loyalty to them while the brothers agree to forgo their previously planned oath. If my rambling made any sense there...I guess it just felt rushed to me.
Eve had no idea what she'd be getting into when she decided to accept an ad she saw in the newspaper. She soon sets foot into a world that takes her by surprise in more ways than one. The Night brothers are nothing like what she'd thought they'd be. Determined to make sense of the craziness that now surrounds her, she immerses herself in the new life they've now given her, never once giving thought to what lies in store for her at every turn.
Eve struggles a lot with the loss of her brother, being that is extremely recent and due to suicide. She is alone in the world, with her parents both gone. Karpov Kinrade managed to put into words, what many experience when going through such a harsh loss and not really having anyone to comfort you in the time of loss.
And let's not forget the ending...I was totally shocked by the twist, and have SO many questions! Can't wait for the next book in the series.
