This is my first experience with a microscope, so I don't have much experience with them, but it is working great for my college biology class. As other customers stated, there are some small materials on the lenses, but they are not affecting my experiments. I attached some pics I took today for a lab. I am still working on taking good pictures, but that is not the microscopes fault.
All photos are taken with the 10x eyepiece.
Picture 1 is a fruit fly taken with the 40x objective lens
Picture 2 is a fruit fly taken with the 4x objective lens
Picture 3 is cheek cells stained with an IKI indicator with the 40x objective lens
Picture 4 is an onion root tip with the 10x objective lens

I spent months shopping for a scope. I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a lab quality thing for a hobby. This is quite possibly the only entry-level scope worth the price. Sturdy, precise fits for the lenses, powerful adjustable lighting, battery and AC adapter. 5-stars.

Feels fairly heavy and sturdy in the hand. Neck has plenty of space to accommodate your hand when you pick it up. Nothing feels loose. Magnifications work simply and easily. Knobs are pretty solid and move smoothly. NOTHING on this microscope feels too cheap or flimsy- everything feels like good quality materials. Great purchase because of its quality versus its price. I can't compare it to more expensive versions since I've never purchased another at a higher price, but it definitely beats the ones I used in high school (which while heavy were finicky and frustrating to get a clear picture from). I'm sure my teenage son will continue to enjoy it for a long while.

Great product but does not come with ANY instructions (I guess they are sold separately for a cost....this is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars.

This a a decent microscope for the money. It is perfect for the kids to use. It is much heavier than a toy one. I wish it came with a cover and also a protective case or bag for the other eye piece. But overall we are very happy.

Got for our teenage daughter as a gift with a box of 100 glass slides. She is in love with it. Does not hook up to the computer but she has figured out how to use her cell phone camera to take pictures of what she sees in it.

I use this to check my dogs stool for parasites. It seems to work for that.

12 (almost 13) year- old daughter loved it as a Christmas gift. I thought it was a fair price for the quality and design. Now, if she would just stop showing me our dust mites.

Just using this to view micro life around here...pond, house, dog bowl (yech) and the various powers, light settings and apertures are just what was needed. Watch out tardigrades, you're next!

I bought this for my four year old scientist in the making and all I can say is !! whoohooo !!! It's super easy to use and super durable. My son and I had no issues with the lighting or the focus.
