This is a really nice book of short stories about Oliver and Amanda Pig. My 4 and 5 year old kids love it. There are about 5 chapters and it probably takes 10 minutes to read the whole book aloud. The stories are simple and sweet, such as playing 'telephone' on a rainy day and Amanda learning to make a block castle by herself when everyone else is busy. We are ordering more Amanda Pig books now, because this one is such a hit!

I bought this as a Christmas gift/ donation for my daughter's class along with other Amanda books. The kids and my daughter loved them so much that I started buying the Amanda books for us at home. The school uses them in their reading counts program and the stories are really cute.

My 4 and 6 year old daughters absolutely love this book! One of the best we've read. Very sweet and entertaining.

I bought my first Oliver and Amanda book eight years ago for my then toddlers. I bought the entire series and each new release and would have purchased more if more were available. They LOVED these books and wanted to read them over and over again. I have had two more children since who love these books as much as their older siblings did. These books make your child want to sit and listen to the stories. The stories are ones that children can really relate to. I cannot recommend these books highly enough for toddler to early elementary age children.

This book is characterized as a Level Two reader, which is described as "reading together, short sentences, simple dialogue".
The stories are interesting with colorful and cute illustrations by Ann Schweninger. This book contains five stories about Amanda and her brother Oliver. Young readers will delight in the stories and will be able to relate to much of what Amanda and her brother Oliver get up to! I'd recommend this series to children who are beginning to develop some measure of independence in their reading and have completed the step one readers. It also makes an excellent read aloud for younger children.
