AMANDA IN SPAIN is a book for the young and the young-at-heart. Vivid descriptions of the country and its customs, humorous details, and enough tension that keeps you turning the page, make this a very enjoyable reading. I look forward to Amanda's next adventure!
I really liked the first Amanda book - "Amanda in Arabia", and this book was just as awesome! The plot is very good and Amanda is a character everyone will like. I like how I learned a lot about Spain in this book because of the places Amanda goes and the people she meets. I hope I get to go to Spain someday! The cover is pretty cool too. I like the photos. The story is a great adventure and I think boys and girls would like it. I think this is a great book and a clean read except for a couple "OMG's"s in it. I recommend this book to kids 8+
Amanda in Spain is my favourite story so far, perhaps because I live there. In this adventure she is travelling with her friend Leah. Whilst visiting Madrid’s El Prado art gallery, Amanda is mesmerized by a girl in a painting who subsequently seems to appear wherever the two friends go, and she begins to wonder if this girl is actually a ghost…
A fun read, being a combination of realistic travel writing, superbly drawn characters, and an engaging plot.
