From the Author
This story came to me in one of those odd and unexplained moments of inspiration. I'd received a wedding announcement printed on an 8 1/2 x 11 paper. The way the announcement was folded put together the words Amanda in the summer. Instantly, a vision came to me of a woman on the beach, pregnant, and writing a letter. Once I started the first letter of the story, the prose flowed. It's whimsical, but deep with emotion for the friendship between the women.
