I have to say i am really disappointed in this game.i had always played the trial version for so many years and in 1 hour could not get that far b/c i'm a thorough gamer(i look in every nook and cranny)so after many years of downloading the free 1 hour trials of aveyond i decided to buy it and play the whole thing, but the game play is not like ahriman's prophecy and the story line is not as good either.this game has endless mazes, many leading in a circle or to a glitch in the game were you end up at the bottom of a map.there are trails, hallways, and paths that lead you no where and have no purpose. no one wants to be lead down a path for 2 minutes twisting and winding with no treasure chest, no loot, no mobs to kill,no npc to get quest from, nothing. there are also an endless supply of mobs running around everywhere in the outside of town areas, it can be very confusing to navigate b/c mobs sprout up everywhere and when your trying to figure out which path leads to somewhere a herd of mobs is no help. since there were so many mobs i thought maybe something important was beyond them but nope, just another dead end.this game was not even fun to play and at 1 point i looked up the walkthrough b/c the map in game is very blurry and no help at all.finally i lost all interest b/c i hate having to depend on a walkthrough to play a game.

The beaming reviews lured me to buy this game. I was hoping to relive some childhood favorites with a new experience. The game is decent and definitely worth the price. I give it an average rating though as I found the game play to confusing with very little in game guidance. My intentions of playing this game without looking online for help were quickly dashed after wasting hours trying to complete a quest only to find out that the quests were NOT linear/ point A to point B. For example imagine writing down each individual objective you need to do to complete the game on an index card and then dump all those index cards in your lap and say 'here you go, have at it sport, I'll give you more later..' Because basically that's what this game done. It's VERY easy to get stuck and wander aimlessly not knowing what to do once you're over the 30 level range because again, no in game guidance. You can't count on the town folks for help, they never change what they say, you can't count on the druids or the oracle, you can't even count on the objects you collect as the descriptions are bare minimum. I got items I still don't know what the hell they are for .. winged boots for example .. got them, unsellable, no idea what they were for and they never came up in game.

There is no option to run from battles, your spell descriptions are not specific as to what sort of damage they deal; dark, air, water etc and likewise armor, weapon and monster descriptions are non-existent. Almost all the chests in game are disappointing once you open them, gaining levels add negligible HPs and MPs. No option to rearrange the items in your inventory. Spell damage doesn't rise with your level and no option to hide or rearrange your spells. Melee damage doesn't scale with spell damage so it's not even worth leveling your fighting characters.

All in all it's an okay game. It had potential to be great if only it were developed more. I doubt I'll replay it just because I'm still bitter over the fact they are so quick to give you side quests that you can't complete for another 30-40 levels. Wasted HOURS before realizing that *grumble grumble* But I would like to add I do plan on playing the rest of the games in the Aveyond series as I will always have a soft spot for turn based RPGs and always looking to play as many and I come across

Cute little game, I played this when I was younger, and at the time was really excited to be playing a female character that got to sword fight and cast spells. The story line is interesting and the game play is fun. This isn't too challenging once you get a hang of the basic controls so if you're looking for something a little more indepth this might not be for you.

This was not my first Aveyond game, I fell in love with the third Aveyond game first, and then eventually bought the first and second. The game isn't necessarily high-level graphics (it's more reminiscent of the classic RPGs), but the plotline makes up for any flaws.
For 6.99, you get a lot of adventuring time, and I've never gotten bored of replaying any of the Aveyond games. It's a turn based game, so it's not super-intense, perfect for any age.

Okay the story is rather good so far and the graphics are old fashioned like the old Nintindo games like Chrono Trigger or the older Final Fantasy games. But don't let it scare you away! This really is a jewel of a game. I'm very happy I downloaded it.

This was an enjoyable game with a nice storyline. Once I leveled up, it was a bit annoying to have to go repeatedly through areas with lower level monsters but other than that, I liked it.

In this game, you get older Nintendo type graphics for gameplay, but if you enjoy casual games and older Zelda-type games, you will enjoy this game. As you make it through the game, you will learn more about your characters personel history. There are many quests in the game, but the basic idea is that a great evil is about to be awakened and you and your party alone must stop that from happening. You will have more characters join your party than can actually fight at one time, so you will get to decide which characters are active and which are just in your party. Your goals consist of finding and helping druids who are special protecters of the world, in order to gain access to a special weapon that you will use to fight the greatest evil. In addition, there are many side quests to complete. There is also a great deal to explore, with many continents and different methods of travel.

If you liked playing the types of Nintendo games popular 20 years ago, this game will keep you entertained.
