Once I finally got around to wiring these up I realized what a cool upgrade it was.
The interior of the boat is much more eye grabbing.
They seem to be well made, but I haven't put them through the "rigors" yet. All 6 worked fine.
Fit into my old cupholder cuts, but they are a little smaller in diameter, so there is a very small "dirt ring" that was covered by the old ones. No big deal.
I wired 3 pairs because my 16 gauge wire seemed to get a little warm when I had more than 2 in parallel.
ran each pair to a negative and positive terminal block, which were routed through a switch and the battery.

On a relatively unrelated note. I found that if I wired the switch up "backwards" it would work, but the lights would be about half as bright. By that I mean, Battery+ to terminal block. Terminal block to Load prong on switch.
It worked much better with battery+ to switch, load prong to terminal block.

I built the "auxillary" switch box with a black project box, terminal blocks, terminal connector strips, and 3 prong/1LED switches. All to be had for about 25 bucks.

**Update. Tonight was the first night I saw all six of these in the dark.. 2 are noticeably different color than the other 4. That's pretty aggravating. They are more purple than blue (See second photo).
They look better than the others in my opinion but it definitely throws off the effect. I checked and they are all the exact same product. So it might be wise to order all you need at one time, instead of splitting the purchase up like I did.

I am updating my review for this item. While I find the finish to be of nice quality, the LED quality indicates a lack of quality control. Since installing and posting my original review, two more of the LED's have failed. Also, the sticky tape that is intended to hold the cupholders down is not strong enough. I've had to add some silicone to several of the cups to keep them down while towing.

Disappointed. I really wanted to like these as they look amazing - when they work.

These appear to be well made pieces so I purchased a set of 8 to replace the plastic holders in my boat. Of the 8, 1 did not work at all and another had 1 of 3 LED's that didn't illuminate. It's a shame too because once I got everything hooked up to an extra accessory switch on my dash, they are really nice. Not too bright IMO as some have suggested although I haven't tried to navigate at night yet.

I REALLY want to give these 5 stars and anybody reading this review should consider that maybe it was just a fluke that I received a couple of defective items. I simply ordered two more to finish the installation and am very happy with the results. Amazon will accept the other two returns and credit my account - props to them.

Price is right, stainless seems to be good quality and the finish is good.
