    I really enjoyed this game. The graphics and sound were fantastic, and the gameplay was fast-paced and fun. As others have said, it's not particularly hard, but it's fun to play regardless. The web-swinging, while dynamic, was not as good as in Spider-Man 2. There's a lot of references to other Spider-Man characters hidden within the game, such as Vulture, Mister Negative, and Doctor Octopus, to name a few. Also, there's plenty of unlockable costumes to choose from. Aside from the web-swinging, my only other real complaint is the photography. It's WAY too finnicky, and there's no real way to know how close you need to be to the subject, or what angle it needs to be at. It can get quite frustrating.

    I absolutely LOVE THIS GAME. I have always been a big fan of Spiderman and have played most Spiderman games. I was a little worried when I first heard about this game, but decided to buy it and try it out and wow I was impressed. The graphics are awesome and there are so many different ways to defeat enemies. I am truly grateful for free-roam and being able to repeat missions to gather anything you might have missed. The button-mashing does get a little tiresome but it's still an awesome game!!!

    Should you play it?

    Yes - if you're a Spider-Man fan.

    I can't recommend this game for everyone, but for those who enjoy the wall-crawler or Spidey games in general, this is a real treat for you. the Open ended city is yours to explore again and it couldn't feel better (I acknowledge most people will complain how the webs don't stick to buildings, but you can always choose to play the game restricting yourself to swing off of ONLY nearby buildings.. until you give in and enjoy breaking the laws of physics for yourself). The indoor levels feel reminiscent to the PS1 Spider-Man games, being all sneaky-like and crawling on the ceilings always fun when not fighting the camera.

    Is it better than Spider-Man 2?

    That's a big ole MAYBE, but I think it's unfair to compare this game to that one. They're the same in many aspects, but also different games in their own respectful ways. To me, each one has what the other doesn't and that's not really a bad thing to me.

    Fighting feels like Batman Arkham series?

    Having played both titles now, Spider-man does borrow a few mechanics from the Gotham Knight, but that's not to say there's an identity crisis here; Spidey makes full use of his webs and acrobatics to show off his agility and such which always have that flare you want. There's also the stealth approach of dispatching your enemies which again, reminds of batman to a degree, except Batman can't stick to ceilings. The only gripe with me on this is that the fighting in general feels lacking in polish, but due to time limits on having to release the game on time with the movie, it's understandable why it is so.

    Web-Rush?

    Here's the kicker. The new web-rush system is like your new way to web-zip. There's always a cursor on screen pointing to where you'll head to and - with a simple tap of a button - you'll speed along the air and stick/land whatever it was you were pointing to. It works great in both combat AND traveling! You can even hold the button down to slow time to a crawl and think about your choices then. It makes things work smoothly, effortlessly and it's a great way to speed the game up; especially outdoors where you'll reach your destination running on top of buses, kicking off walls, etc. It's fun to watch and experience.

    Story?

    The story takes places after the events of the movie, so spoiler warning on that one. I suck at telling whether a story is good or not, so I can't really judge here. It did a nice job keeping me buckled in from beginning to end and interested by some of the cut-scenes will blow you away, if not spider-man literally. Some bosses look amazing, but are simple in gerneal. They're fun all in all and that's what counts.. except for the in-door bosses.

    In closing

    The Amazing Spider-Man is a great game for fans of the web-slinger and most likely an "okay" game for everyone else. If you're not sure whether to buy it or not, try to rent it, strap on your web-shooters and give this title a spin.

    This is a game that the children love to play. I bought The Amazing Spider-Man for a four year old boy and a seven year old girl.     I was super excited about this game. After the last two or three spider-man titles had abandoned the open world, I was incredibly excited for someone to finally bring it back. After all, if you played Spider-man 2 or 3, your favorite part of the game was probably the web-slinging around manhattan, am I right? Well, this game does bring back the web-slinging and the open world, but it looks like the devs couldn't be bothered to look at (or didn't have access to) the code from Spider-man 2 or 3. The open world web slinging is a JOKE. The problem is, your webs don't actually attach to anything! You can actually web-sling about 5 stories higher than the tallest sky-scraper in sight, and the webs just shoot straight up (this should sound familiar to anyone who played Spider-Man 1 on the xbox)! This might make sense if Manhattan was covered by a large dome or something, but it's not, and it just comes off as hacky and super-lame.

    Sure the combat looks pretty cool (feels like Arkham Asylum), but without the web slinging fun, who really cares? Personally, I played the tutorial indoor level, and as soon as I got outside and tried out the web-slinging for a few minutes, I turned the game off (and popped in Spider-Man 3 to get my web-slinging fix). Maybe I'll give it another chance at some point, but honestly, it's probably going straight to GameStop for a trade-in while it's still worth something.

    So, if you're looking at this game in the hopes of a triumphant return to web-slinging around Manhattan, you'd be better off picking up a copy of Spider-Man 3. The devs should be ashamed of themselves.
