Now, the best book available on Amazon ads is here.
For years I have been doing Amazon Ads...following the industry experts and taking courses. Yes, they showed how the ads worked and how to set them up. Great. But nobody took the deep dive into why these ads are important.
Ten pages into this book and I was absolutely hooked. And I mean that. This author came recommended to me through someone else and I first thought, "Great, another book on self-publishing." Nope. This book has become my bible for Amazon ads and kicks the hell out of ay course you'll even take on the subject.
This book explains it ALL>
If you’re tired of rumors, guesses, and secret strategies, this book shows you:
+How to tap into a buying audience
+The neuroscience behind clicks that don’t convert (and how to get more that do)
+The tactics of expert optimization
+Ad types to avoid (and why)
+Why scaling is so hard
This book gives you the knowledge to advertise at profit. It’ll surprise you, and bust the myths holding you back.
You want to get ads working for you? This book is it.
I've already bought the other books by this author.
Best $4.00 I spent on a book for ads or publishing period...
I learned A LOT from this book, including why my Amazon ads aren't working. I did some tests from the book to see what it would take to make them work, and my conclusion ended up being that... I'm not going to get anywhere with them right now. Not until I get my ranking up through other means first (like FB ads, Bookbub ads, promo site stacking, etc. These aren't covered in the book, just fyi, but I wouldn't expect it to, because that's not what it's about. For the record, I switched to FB ads for now, which have been successful, which wouldn't have happened if I'd still been banging my head against the wall, trying to make Amazon ads work for me).
Anyway, this book is well worth owning and reading! I learned so much about how Amazon ads work, and about marketing and PPC ads in general. The author challenges a lot of accepted methods about Amazon ads that have never made sense to me, but his ideas and methods really rang true. And I can't believe I didn't realize how quickly and easily you can just test some of this stuff without spending anything. I will be rereading this book in the future, when I'm more prepared to try my hand at it again, and I'm sure I'll learn even more with each readthrough!
This is the advice I needed as an indie author trying to sell a handful of books I've spent 15 years crafting. This advice goes against so much I've read, but it makes perfect sense what Robert is saying.
For example, the part about using ASINs instead of keywords? My god, why didn't I think of that? So many parts of this book made me realize that I should study other areas of marketing, like PPC theory and how Amazon sells non-book products.
This will be a gamechanger for me. Thanks to the author for writing this. Thanks to David Gaughran - another incredible thinker when it comes to publishing - for recommending it on his mailing list. I have purchased the rest of Robert's books in the series and am thankful to have the opportunity.
This book, however, has re-inspired me. It showed me that the way I have been doing it is probably not the best way.
I kind of felt like I was waking up from the Matrix when I was reading this book, as a lot of the advice is directly against what I have been taught.
I look forward to testing the strategies in this guide.
Side note: I like that the author doesn't pretend to know it all and encourages readers to think for themselves and test all recommendations. He is also quite funny.
