Quality isn't great
Three stars for being a cheap little tool. I initially ordered this to keep in a scuba diving tool kit where a small size was important and most things aren't much more than hand-tightened.The shipping was inexplicably delayed and in the interim I ordered the Fujiya FLS-28G-F.While the Fujiya was approximately 3X the cost it was significantly higher quality and managed to make its way from Japan faster than this Amazon Basic "prime" arrived. As you can see in the photos the jaws are pretty thin but there is enough wiggle in the moveable jaw that they almost don't touch the fixed jawwhen pushed. It's still a fairly handly little tool that's probably fine for most applications. The thumb screw is surprisingly decent. I also like that there are measurements in metric and imperial on each side. The Fujiya only has metric. If $20 more dollars is worth it for a quality tool, grab the Fujiya, otherwise this is probably fine for limited use.

I don't have a lot of big projects in my house. So I rarely need a big wrench. This little wrench is perfect for everyday household needs. I like the small handle because it fits much better in my small toolbox (though a longer handle would be better if you're needing a wrench for heavy duty tightening). the head opens up much larger than any wrench this size I've ever seen, and way more than I'd probably ever need.

The possible downside of this wrench is the grips on the head of the wrench (which is why I gave a 4 star on sturdiness). They're very thin/flat (about 1/16th-1/18th of an inch thick if looking at from the side). For my uses I don't really foresee any issues, but it may be an issue for other people.

The tool appears durable, The adjustability is a smooth motion without having to lubricate it, it's a compact size and it has a nice grip thanks to the plastic dip they did on the handle. It's also less expensive than other matching options. I'd recommend this in a heartbeat.

I purchased this narrow jaw wrench (not the Amazon brand per say, but this type of tool) specifically at the recommendation of a group. For any 3D printing enthusiast this is a must-have to simplify the removal of a nozzle from a hot hot end without destroying wires during the process.

This review is for the 2-piece set. The jaw was loose on the 5.5-inch wrench so I had to exchange the set. The replacement set works fine. I suggest check the jaws for side-to-side movement, there should be hardly any play. Both sets have the same lot number, so I suspect there is a quality control issue.

Amazon Basics 5.5-Inch (140mm) Slim Jaw Adjustable Wrench, 1-3/16-Inch(30mm) Jaw Capacity ASIN #B08L6TS8JX
I liked the width of the jaw opening on these, it seemed it would be very versatile and a good bike tool to pack. It felt a tad flimsy to me. What I found out is that on tighter and larger nuts, these would tend to slip and gouge the nut rather than turn it. So I felt I could still use these on the wheels cone nuts, but they were awkward to get into proper position especially on the disc brake side of the front wheel. But still, it was a good price at the time and I'd of kept them except that the worm screw for the jaw adjustment would slip out of place and the jaws would widen.
Value at the time 4 stars, versatility 3 stars, sturdiness only 2 stars. Overall 3 stars.
If I wasn't a slim jaw adjustable wrench again, I will most likely go with a name brand and spend the money. Sometimes ya get more than what ya pay for, and sometimes ya get less. That is what return policies are for.
I wouldn't buy these again, but they might work for you, if not send them back. I found Amazon to be very good on returns, better than many of the brick and mortar stores out here nowadays.

Those of you who work on your bike, esp cup and cone wheel bearings, this is the type of style you might really appreciatd -- esp if you do road work. Great quality at a great price vs competition. Also, not just bike mechanics will appreciate this, but even those doing plumbing work, as well... mechanics, too... anywhere you might benefit from a slim nosed wrech jaw that can turn one bolt while not hitting/interfering with another bolt.

On the negative side, this is closer to a 6" wrench and is NOT an 8" wrench, so know what size you'll be getting. Also, the machined jaws were a bit "sharp" at the edges, so a slight step below the finishex quality you'll get with Knipex or Channelock. I simply used some light sandpaper on the sharp edges for just a few seconds and that did the trick. It's not a wrench everyone will need, but if you think you might have a need for a slim jawed 6" wrench, them I definitely can recommend this wrench at this price.

With cheaper Crescent type wrenches, you expect a certain amount of sloppiness. That's not really here with these. They hold their adjustment well and fell good in your hand. I use them to grip the flats on cylinder shafts on robots in an industrial setting, and they hold up well.

I needed two “thin jaw” wrenches for making and breaking opposing scuba regulator connections, some with different sizes. These adjustable wrenches will work great for that purpose. They will work with narrow width connection surfaces and will be exposed to light torque forces. These are not a very high quality tool and would not be good if high torque forces are required.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )

5.0 out of 5 stars For its size, the jaw is huge, but also a very slim jaw.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
The finish on this does lend itself to the 'basics' title, but so far, a very good little wrench!! The handle has been dip coated in quite a grippy coating, definitely better than the bare metal you'd expect.
It's a very pocket friendly size, listed as 8 inch, I've received a 5½ inch (14cm) model. With a jaw that'll open to 32mm or 1¼ inch (markings lightly etched into either side in metric & imperial), a considerable size for the length of the body. The surprise for me, was just how flat the jaw is, this wood easily allow you to get below a locking bolt & tighten the 1st bolt, with ease, or just allow you in at a bolt with poor access. Maybe not the most common of scenarios, but good to have a tool able to, than need one but not have it.
The flatness of the jaw may eventually be it's undoing, not having the bulk may see it get chewed or bend at some point, but so far, so good!!
