I bought this product because I was VERY excited to find a generic to aquaphor. I have to hose my kiddos down (head to toe) with an emollient every night to help with their eczema. I have found a very slight difference in that the amazon brand seems slightly less thick than aquaphor. It does the same thing, but I have also noticed it will wash off of my hands slightly easier (with soap and water). Again, it appears to have the same affect, but I've noticed just those tiny differences. It still gets 5 stars because it is significantly cheaper and has the same emollient effect. Yay for a generic!!!! I will continue to use and buy this product.

I was skeptical being an aquaphor user. The price for 4 of these was really good. The jars are huge. It seems to be very similar to aquaphor but, slightly thinner. The active ingredient in this is Petrolatum and it is 41% which is the same as aquaphor. For $5 a piece it is a great value.

I’m pretty sure the photos won’t be able to do it justice, but this stuff isn’t even in the same ballpark as aquaphor. It may look similar in the tub, but the moment you touch it, you’ll see this stuff is thinner than aquaphor and when you try to rub it in it melts and gets runny more like Vaseline (which is almost the same price as this). I bought this as hopefully a cheaper alternative to help with the super dry skin I’ve got thanks to being on Accutane that REALLY dries you out, and this is just not it. For the more casual dry skin user I’m sure it’ll work just fine, but for those expecting aquaphor just do yourself a favor and buy the real deal.

This ointment made a huge difference on my severely dry skin from the very first day. An added bonus was that it's almost completely cleared up several very thick surgical scars! It's not quite as thick as Aquaphor but I like this consistency much better. I tend to get skin tears due to my dry skin. That doesn't happen anymore.

I keep this jar beside my bed and use it like a lip balm every night before bed, in the mornings and throughout the day to keep my lips soft and hydrated. It's like having A huge container lip balm . It works great. I'd say it's very similar to Vaseline except it is fragrance free , has more of a slip to it and soaks in better. I scooped some out and placed it in an empty lip balm container for my purse. I also use it on my dry elbows and it' has helps much better than regular moisturizer. The main thing I like about this product is the price. I paid approximately $5.60 a 14oz container and that price is hard to beat for such a helpful, product.

Both of my kids have eczema, so we have been using Aquaphor for almost 4 years now. I tried this out because of the value and was skeptical because of prior experience with off brands. This version has been pretty consistent with other off brands. They work but do not share the same consistency as Aquaphor. It’s as thick as regular Vaseline, so I still end up using more than I would if I was just using Aquaphor. I will still purchase though, just because of the value.

This product is nothing like Aquaphor that it is compared to. I am a home caregiver and washing hands is constant. I would NOT waste your money; get the Aquaphor and save your skin and your time!
