To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This is a great game, that is why I gave it 5 stars. It is fun to playif you like breakout style games and has a gajillion levels to play through.
Buyer beware: Windows XP was the last system this worked perfectly on. It will run on 7 and even on 10, but has graphic glitches that make it difficult to play. Compatibility mode, for me, did not make the gliltches go away. Not reocmmended for newer computers. Sorry.
Update: I checked some of reflexive's other games on Amazon, and I can't see another one where they did the same thing as in this one. Regardless, I found the in-game adverts distracting and an unacceptable business practice. /
Look carefully at the preview images before you buy this product (Or any reflexive product?).
The lower right corner (about 1/16th of the screen!) features a rotating ad the WHOLE TIME YOU PLAY THE GAME.
Not only is it insulting to feature ads throughout a PAID game (in demo versions or "free" games this may be acceptable, or at the beginning or end/credits of a normal game), but the ads take up a significant portion of the screen.
The "flashing"/changing of the ads between the various pictures during the gameplay is also very distracting.
This is my first and last reflexive "purchase".
Other than the ads, this may have been a decent game. They were too distracting changing throughout playing, so I couldn't stand playing it for more than 5 minutes, and now I've uninstalled it.
This game isn't exactly on the cutting edge of new technology, but its a pretty decent game. If you just want a game to shoot the breeze, then this is the way to go, it gives you a brick breaker style game, just amped up a little. If you don't have any games on your pc, or little netbook, give this one a go.
I would never have known the first thing about this game if I had not come across it available for free. Of course, my expectations were not very high at all, but I figured I would give the game a shot and just remove it if it proved to be as lousy as most other free games I've tried in the past. I soon discovered, though, that Ricochet Extreme is actually a pretty fun and challenging game. I started out in Easy mode, and the further I advanced in the levels, the more I wondered what the game designers could possibly throw into the mix next. The basic concept of the game could hardly be simpler: you just bounce these little balls (which can ricochet all over the place) off of your paddle controller in order to take out a bunch of bricks on the screen. As you progress from one level to the next, though, a variety of different kinds of bricks make their appearance, and all kinds of power-ups make things more and more interesting (and challenging). You've got your fast and slow power-ups, your shrink and enlarge ball power-ups, your laser gun power-up, your magnetic ball-catching power-up, your multiple-ball power-up, and the list goes on. I can't tell you what kinds of crazy things can happen in the higher levels because I was born with some lousy hand-eye coordination genes, but I do enjoy trying to get to those higher levels.
To be honest, this is not a game I would actually purchase, even for a few dollars, but I do enjoy wasting time playing it. It is fun enough and challenging enough to appeal to children as well as adults (there are four different difficulty levels), and the graphics are actually pretty cool. I don't think I'm going to be uninstalling this little game any time soon.
I purchased this game for my family. We had this game some years back when it first came out. We miss playing it. Was glad to find it again. We love playing it. This game is easy and enjoyable to play. If you are looking for a fun and exciting game to play, this is it. Thank you Amazon for carrying this item.
I played this game years ago, and loved every minute of it. I bought another laptop and could not download my game onto it. When I saw this game on Amazon I could not believe it. I had to buy it. I absolutely LOVE this game. Thanks so much !!
I was excited when I saw that it was free. I downloaded and installed the game but as soon as I hit play my computer crashed and gave me the blue screen of death. I thought it maybe something wrong with my computer, so I restart my computer and hit play again. Again I got the blue screen of death. Worst download of my life.
