*The fit. I am 6'2", 180 libs, 35-inch sleeves. Medium shirts fit my shoulders well; but can be too short in the sleeves. Large shirts have room in the sleeves; but tend to balloon over my midsection. I ordered this shirt in large. The sleeves are perfect, and the shoulders are a surprisingly good fit. It's too big over the midsection, but only a little, and I mean for this to be a casual shirt, probably untucked.
*The material. It is substantial and washes well. A much costlier and rarely worn linen shirt in my closet seems cheap by comparison.
As the title says, I find this a great LINEN shirt. If you've owned a linen shirt, you probably do not expect to pull a smooth, crisp garment out of the dryer. Still, this shirt seems tailored to minimize wrinkles. For example, in some shirts, the plackets can come out creased and mangled. The substantial fabric and the cut of this shirt keep plackets lying relatively flat, right out of the dryer.
Reading over some early reviews of the shirt, I wonder about expectations for linen shirts. And I wonder about words: I would call this shirt more "rumpled" than "wrinkled." Wrinkles, to me, suggest sharp, irregular creases. This shirt, by contrast, emerges from the dryer with soft waves. See the attached photo. Not very businessy, but I would not expect a linen shirt to be businessy, especially at this price.
Maybe more info than you want or need about a shirt, so thanks for reading. Here's hoping more information helps you decide whether this shirt's for you!
Don't know if my pictures will do it justice, but the shirt fits well on the body and feels good, too.
The surprises here included that:
1) It wrinkles FAR less than other linen shirts I have owned and is wearable right out of the dryer;
2) The fabric is soft to the touch and is VERY comfortable against my sensitive skin; and,
3) The quality of the seaming and assembly is VERY nice.
These things, at this price point, were really not expected and resulted in my 5-star rating of this shirt.
Best suited for warm-weather wear, this is a linen shirt I have no reservations about recommending.
I'm 6'2, 205 lbs and bought both L and XL. The L is a good trim fit, not too roomy or too tight. The XL is a bit too big, but will work as a loose oversized shirt.
Highly recommended for the prime day price and still a good buy at regular price.
