"Why Are You Ok" is now battling to be my favorite from them.
The album really almost has a Prog rock sound to it. I am NOT stating it is a prog rock album, but there are sections from it that could make you think otherwise.
Top tracks on this album for me are "Dull Times/The Moon", "Country Teen", "Under Oak", "Casual Party", "In A Drawer", I mean gosh, I might end up listing the whole album ha ha!
For me, this album features the neat modern alternative rock outfit but they focus on a more relaxed and contemporary soundscape.
Overall, if you liked "Casual Party" I do not think anyone should go into listening to this album expecting more upbeat peppy songs. That is honestly the only peppy song, maybe "Country Teen" but this whole album really goes into a different field from their prior work.
A majority of the songs have an emotional side to them, the musicianship is terrific as always. There are times where I thought Band of Horses was trying to sound like Pink Floyd on this album. In some sections on the tracks, there are little sound snippets of audio dialogue that is either inaudible or just random banter. I love it, it really took me deep into the music.
This album has me sold, it is a great album and full of beautiful music.
