Hi Amazon,

I love everything you do. This gaming station is awesome.

My only complaint is you say 2 games are included. (Shovel Knight & Ducktales)
It took me awhile to track down a way to contact you and get someone on the phone to explain to me "sorry, but that these games aren't free. They are included for a price." I told her nicely that it was misleading and then was hung up on. Ha, what?

Seriously, these games aren't free?! Included with purchase means they don't cost money! Change your wording guys. You have a great product don't blow it by pissing people off.

Also, I really want those damn games for free now. Do the right thing.

Save your money and get the cheaper versions fire stick or TV. This is a $140 waste of money that barely had games. As I expected it has no access to Google Play Store like many Amazon devices. The worst part is its incompatibility with Amazon Underground. Games that you already have won't work on fire TV unless repurchase them. You can stare at the owned game in your library like SW:KOTOR on your mobile device, but you must buy it to use it on fire TV. Out of all the apps I have only a few are compatible with Fire TV making this gaming addition a large waste.

After owning this system for a few months my opinion of it has decreased further. As a "Gaming edition" it leaves much/ a lot/ a ton/ to be desired. The Majority of the App store is incompatible with Fire TV, not much has changed in the few months I have owned it. I still would not recommend this edition to anyone as it has not improved as a gaming machine. Your "1400 High quality games" is a massive joke. Almost all of it are clones of official apps slightly modified or the same app re-skinned. A good example is a developer by the name of Puzzlepups, which takes up 107 apps of that magical 1400, the 107 is actually only a few different apps re-skinned with different backgrounds and put on the store for individual acquirement. The 1400 available games are flooded with this problem making hundreds of them the same damn game. Other "High-Quality" games are quick thrown together apps that would make the Atari system look high definition in comparison.

It does Stream video well, Alexa works fine, more apps for subscription based services are being added to it.

Well, the Fire TV box is great. The controller is a piece of garbage. Very happy with the box. It works with all the services I use, and has a great picture. Very easy to use, no buffering, the Fire TV is a great piece of tech. If you want to 'cut the cord' this is the best device I've found. The controller is pretty useless for most things, and horrible for gaming. It disconnects from the box frequently, resulting in crashes and dead players. Even simple games like Crossy Road are UNPLAYABLE. I really wish I had gotten the Fire TV with the regular remote. The problems with the controller are well documented, clearly Amazon has a real problem listening to its customers. C. Gonzalez

I did read prior reviews that left me on the edge as whether to buy or not. After careful thought I made the decision to buy this. I can tell you that his system is one of the best. After having a Fire Stick, I can really see the difference in features and performance. The Fire TV box and controller is awesome. I didn't truly buy it to play games, since I have an XBOX1, but the ability to do that is a nice feature. This box is absolutely fast and delivers without question. The processor is lightning fast and the controller is effortlessly smooth. Some other reviews down played the controller, but mine works great and is exactly the same type as an XBOX 1 controller as far as handling and style. Amazon got it right with this newest version. Using the Qwerty board, in other add-on apps, with the controller is actually easier than the hand held remote. The addition of extra storage provided by the micro-SD card is very nice. The ability to transfer music, videos, and other movies to this card and then play on the Fire TV is priceless. Purchasing this box it did also come with 2 Free Add-on Games already installed. Most of the Games can be downloaded and most are free. I really enjoy this box. Oh yay, Alexia works well and responds fast to your questions and as advertised, can find music, TV shows, and movies just by asking. I highly recommend this product. The only thing that I would advise is after initial setup and your registration, immediately update the firmware. Go into Amazon system and push the update button. It only takes about 10 minutes, but the newest version OS 5.0.5 is award winning and resolves a lot of issues posted by others. Go get this system!! You won't regret it. I have added many apps for streaming and it delivers.Read more ›

I really wanted to love this device. However, as I write this, there are hundreds of apps/games in the Amazon App store that are showing as not compatible with the "Fire TV", but are compatible with the "Fire TV (Previous Generation)". I have called Amazon's Fire TV Support about this, and when I do the agents put me on hold, and then come back and tell me that Amazon is aware of this issue. I would love for Amazon to comment on this review and tell us that they are working on a fix for this. Here are some details of the data that I have gathered from the Amazon App store.

1) Doing a search for Apps & Games/Fire TV Apps (All Models), it currently comes back with:
Fire TV (3,823)
Fire TV (Previous Generation) (4,059)

2) Doing a search for Apps & Games/Fire TV Apps (All Models):Games, it currently comes back with:
Fire TV (1,030)
Fire TV (Previous Generation): (1,161)

A sampling of some games that I found in the App Store to be compatible with "Fire TV (Previous Generation)", but not with "Fire TV" are:
Grand Theft Auto (various versions), Asphalt 8, Modern Combat 4.

Since the new Fire TV has a more powerful processor than the "Previous Generation", this doesn't make sense to me. I preordered this device to supplement my Fire TV Stick to be able to play all those additional games (that the App Store had said, before this new version, had worked with the Fire TV). Does Amazon have to recertify each of the apps for the new version of the Fire TV, and that hasn't happened yet?

*** Update 10/11/2015:
1) The Grand Theft Auto (GTA) games are now showing in the App Store as compatible with the new Fire TV.
