great game w/ screen-flipping issue

I love this game but there is one issue that ruins it. If you tip up your Kindle AT ALL, the entire screen flips upside down. The only way to play it is to have it lay flat on a table. Forget about leaning back and tilting it up. It oftentimes flips upside down when a crazed patient is chasing you around the asylum. Tweaking options does nothing to fix it either.

Best game for any Amazon device hands down!

Really amazing game and think that the Kindle and Fire phone can handle the graphics, sound and game play is just pure awesomeness! Buy it because 7 bucks is nothing when you think you can buy the same type of.game with the same features for Xbox PS4 WiiU or PC at about 60 or even 70 bucks and keep paying morevfor new stories or episodes!

Just wish if they hid a real gun in the asylum! 😂😁😅

This game is awesome. It is worth every penny and more. I played the entire game and was amazed at the value. The art and the soundtrack were perfect. My heart at times was pounding out of my chest. There is also replay value if you don't get all of the achievements. The plot is particularly good. This is awfully intense. 2 thumbs up!

Unwieldy controls and same-sy gameplay

I play a lot of video games. I made it about an hour through this one before the controls made me quit.

I'm playing the game on a Fire Phone. As you tilt the phone, the in-game camera rotates to make it seem like you're looking around. The problem for me was that the game seemed to think I was looking from an angle all the time. If I tapped on a spot in the room, I'd move to the left of that spot because the phone thought my head was off to the left. Even if this is a problem with the phone, the game should be better about handling this case so that I actually move to the spot I tap on.

As for the gameplay, I thought it was boring, but perhaps that's because I've played many other games like it that were better. There are influences from Bioshock, Amnesia, Silent Hill, and maybe even Metal Gear Solid, and those are just the games I've played.

You're in an asylum where everyone seems to have gone crazy, and you're picking up pieces of paper that tell the story of how the asylum was before you got there (if you've ever played Bioshock, you can already taste the similarity).

Eventually you come upon some monsters (inmates?) that you have to jump in a locker to hide from. The problem is that the monsters show their faces immediately (which aren't frightening) and demonstrate that they're incapable of opening the door of a locker, so they become not scary very fast. (Hiding from monsters in a locker? Sounds like when you meet Pyramid Head in Silent Hill 2.)

You can't kill the monsters (cough, Amnesia, cough) so you have to stealth all over the place a la Metal Gear Solid. But even if you mess up, you can just run and hide in the nearest locker, so it wasn't very stressful for me. Instead of just ambling around aimlessly, like you would expect monsters to do, they seem to walk in set paths. If you watch them for a while, you can learn their routines. All of these things made it feel like a game rather than an experience.

That's about as far as I could get. I would give it 1 star, but I feel bad doing that without actually finishing the game. Other reviews say the story gets good, so who knows? Maybe there actually is a reason for this game to exist.

This game has scared me so much that I had to delete it. I'm sure it will be back on my tablet someday, but for now, it's not on. SPOILER ALERT: I'm about to describe what I DID play. The first few scenes are that you are sheriff, police office, Peterson. You are going into Weatherby Asylum to make sure it is empty because the next day, Weatherby is going down silently. (That's a line from the trailer 😇) Once you walk in, you find a bunch of letters scattered all over the floor in separate rooms. Once you find some of them ,or not, and walk into a room with a ventilation shaft opening, you here a little boy. You go to rescue him, but he says there are monsters in the asylum. I was like "Oh Goody we get to meet BOO from monsters Inc.!" Guess not. Next thing you know you're falling through the floor. The kid follows you around through the ventilation ( I don't know wether you'll find it weird or helpful) and he'll give you helpful information like if a monster is coming. You encounter two monsters of what I've seen. And that's is the end of my experience. After that I was so freaked out I deleted it. I normally like horror games like Five Nights At Freddy's, but this one is super scary. All for now, I'll write more reviews later. 😉
